Mari POV
i wake up and stretch while yawning i try getting up but feel something around my waist i look down and see arms wrapped tightly around my waist and quickly look up to see who they belong to, as i see the person the arms belong to my face brightens into different shades of red and notice he's starting to wake up so i close my eyes and hope my cheeks calm down, pretending to sleep. I feel him playing with my hair and holding me closer and my face heats up even more.
i hear him whisper "why do i feel like this...." i keep my eyes closed, curious as to what he's talking about. "why do you make my heart speed up, why do i feel so warm and happy when i'm around you. why does your smile just make everything better even when i'm having my worst day.." my breath hitches as i hear everything he says. maybe he's talking about someone else. i think to myself but then immediately toss the thought away thinking that it couldn't be since he's literally hugging me while playing with my hair. it has to be me right? who else would it be? Chloe? no, too snobby. Alya? obviously not she's with Nino. who else would it be other than me... he's not close with anyone else. i think then hear him whisper, hardly able to hear it and barely make it out "why Mari" after hearing that and some silence later he gets out of the bed and goes to the bathroom and i open my eyes wide in shock and sit up. what the heck. after getting over the shock my face burns even more and becomes brighter, if that's even humanly possible as i sit there staring at the wall with wide eyes before covering my face with my hands. what just happened.
