Second chance

Chapter 1: The end of Fairy Tail

(NATSU'S P.O.V)

I look out over the battlefield and turn to my guild. My mate/girlfriend Lucy right next to me.

"Listen up dummies!!!" I say as I am the guild master of the Fairy Tail guild.

"WE ARE FAIRY TAIL, THE GREATEST GUILD IN ALL OF FIORE! WE MUST PROTECT OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!" I yell. The echo's sounding through the camp, lighting up the area like a fire. 

"Natsu..." I look at Lucy to see her crying, how can she not, Cana died a few hours ago defending the capital with Guildarts, the old man survived the bomb at the hospital but Cana...

"It's okay Luce, I'm not going to let you or anyone else die okay?" I say pulling her closer to my chest and run into the battlefield...

6 months later

I watch as Lucy starts to sing to our fallen comrades at the funeral, as we are the only ones left.

Gray, Juvia, Sting, Rogue, Lucy, and I. The only fighters left after this war. All other guilds and defenses destroyed, we remain and destroyed our enemies...

Thousands of people dead, within weeks.

This will be our last chance. Levy's last will. What she died to find.

\flashback 1 month ago\

" Guys look at this" Levy stated with an unusual cheer that she hasn't had since Gajeel died.

We all went to look at the book the mage held in her hands. It was an old book that could be barely read but the title was stated clearly on the top.

Magic of Time

Mumbles rippled through the crowd as a spark of hope ignited in the camp.

" This chapter states how we can go back in time to a special point in our lives be using a recent battlefield" Levy states and the camps grow louder and louder.

The hope that was lost by the 4th month of the war was renewed in an instant.

Through the rest of the day, cheers echoed through the camp as Levy, Lucy, and Lucy's spirit Crux planned out how we could make this a reality.

No one knew that the next day 70 percent of us would be dead.

No one knew that Levy would die by the hands of a resurrected Gajeel.

/ Flashback over/

We were working against time. There were only a few minutes left until the final group of deserters came to find us. We were on the battlefield where Mira and half of Fairy Tail died. Lucy was drawing the magic circle and Juvia was gathering the magic energy. Gray and I were watching for an enemy attack. While Sting and Rouge were standing over the body of a dead Minerva who was resurrected and forced to kill her best friend Erza. Her last sentence was a plea to kill her to save the others. 

I felt an influx in magic power as a purplish hue entered my field of vision. When I got my sight back a portal was standing in the place of the magic circle. I tried to use my fire to fly to where Lucy was standing but I couldn't. I immediately opened the book Levy found and read the last page which we kinda ignored since we were in a hurry. It said that it required 2 magic sacrifices and since Gray and I were the closest to the magic book it took ours...Dammit... How will I protect them if this plan fails?

I heard the sounds of marching in the distance.

"Guys they are coming" I shout along with Sting who was next to a broken Rogue.

In an instant, I held Lucy giving her one last kiss, showing her all of my regrets. The kiss was soft but full of emotions like regret, love, and sorrow.

" You'll see me again Luce" I whisper as my voice cracks. Gray and I are going to have to stay here. We won't be of any use without magic. 

She looks at me with eyes full of heartbreak and hugs me not wanting to let go. I savor the feeling of her in my arms and close my eyes. I hear the warriors come closer and can tell that Lucy doesn't want to leave me. So with my heart clenching, I push her into the portal and watch as Gray does the same.

(GRAY'S P.O.V)

I run towards Juvia remembering all the times I rejected her and took her for granted. I regret it... She was one of the only people I've ever loved and I took her for granted. I finally accepted her feelings and confessed mine 3 months before the war, but because of my messing around we couldn't be together for more than a year. I love her with my whole heart and all these feelings pour out of my heart as I kiss her one more time and push her in.

"NO! GRAY-SAMA!!!" My heart breaks as I hear her cry out in sadness... she hasn't called me that since I confessed. Between us, that nickname represents a time of sadness and loneliness. And that is what she was feeling right now, I hope past me is smart enough to fix this and not mess things up.

I see Sting as he stands in front of the portal and I realize he's about to be attacked. Rogue must've realized this too because he tackles Sting and they both fall into the portal. Natsu and I are surrounded just as the portal closes. Goodbye, my love...

(JUVIA'S P.O.V)

I was pushed into the portal a bit later than Lucy but stood up just in time to see her getting ready to leave the portal.

With a quick glance, I see that Rouge and Sting are next to me and that Natsu and Gray are fighting the warriors barehanded.

My heart broke as I saw Gray get hit over the head, but inside I knew that he did what was best for the future.

I held Lucy back as she was trying to push me away. She was sobbing and calling out Natsu's name. I felt her knees buckles as the portal finally closed and she lets out a dry sob. I didn't realize that I was crying until I saw Rouge give me a piece of cloth.

My heart broke as I fell to the ground and screamed. Letting out all of my emotions as Lucy held me and the world went dark...
