For MatthewShe tastes regret on her tongue
She had tasted it before.
That night she let him leave
As he'd slammed the door."What was I thinking?" She wondered.
It was so long ago.
"Why was I so stupid?" She asked.
"Why did I let him go?"Though he tried his best to show her
She knew not what love was then
He loved her so sincerely
She loved somebody elseThen a few years and passed
Her mind and soul had grown
She had realized true love
Was a love that she had thrownSo she sought him out
Cause finally she had learned
Love was a fire he started
And that he heart had burnedAnd finally she'd found him
Sitting by a bench
Reading a book silently
His arm round someone elseShe paused, stared, and blinked,
Her heartbeat pounding harder.
He had fallen for someone else,
His heart beat for another. She took a deep breath and turned
Her steps carry her far from him.
She walks, sprints, and run,
Thinking of what could've been.He looks up from his book and wonders,
Why the women is running away.
She runs faster and faster.
He did not see her face.He turns to his cousin by his side
He sees her as a sister.
In her he confides
About a girl he'll love forever. He tastes regret on his tongue,
It tastes so strong and bitter.
Why did he leave her side?
Why didn't he fight harder?Though their hearts beat as one,
The pair had never met again.
She should've loved him then,
He should've never left.
