Forget About Love

from Aladdin: The Return of Jafar

Donnie and Peach were a good couple. They rarely had fights or disagreements. Usually, both of them were on the same page. Donnie's brothers were supportive of the couple because they were, as Raph calls them "tolerable." However, there was one topic the two could never be on the same accord for: April O'neil.

Peach knew that Donnie used to have feelings for her, so it worried Peach to see them hang out too much. It wouldn't bother her as much if April could stop flirting with Donnie. She knows how uncomfortable it makes Peach, yet April refuses to stop playing with Donnie's feelings. Donnie, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to April's persistence. Heck, he barely knew how to flirt himself. How could he notice when someone else is?

Peach and Donnie sat in the living-room with Mikey. The youngest turtle wanted to watch Crognard the Barbarian. Donnie wanted to continue watching his educational documentaries, but who could say no to Mikey's puppy eyes? So, the couple sat peacefully and watched the animation. Donnie had his arm wrapped around her shoulders as she leaned into his embrace.

Everything was enjoyable. At least it was until Donnie's phone began to buzz. He quickly silenced it and stood up, kissing his girlfriend's cheek.

April grabbed his hand. "Where are you going in such a hurry?"

"I...uh... I was planning to go to that old parts dump. I wanted to make some improvements on Metal Head." Donnie said nervously.

Peach eyed him suspiciously. "Do you want me to come with you? I wouldn't mind tagging along."

"No! I mean, no don't worry about it. I might be there for a while and I don't want you to be out too late. Plus it's going to be super boring!" Donnie quickly said and rushed off to his lab.

Mikey and Peach shared a look. "That was weird to you too, right Mikey?"

"Yep. Something is definitely going on." Mikey nodded before facing back towards the TV. "You should follow him like they do in the movies."

Peach shot Mikey a confused glance. There was no way she was going to follow him. Besides, Donnie was a highly trained ninja. He'd notice her from a mile away. It's not like Don ever gave her a reason to not trust him.

Donnie kissed her one last time before exiting the lair. Peach sighed and stood up, grabbing her things so she could leave. Raph noticed she was leaving at the same time he was.

"Want me to walk you home? I'm headed in the same direction." He offered.

She shrugged. "I wouldn't mind it. Not like Donnie thought about it."

As the two walked towards Peach's home, they passed by April's place. Raph just happened to look across the street to see if April were home. That's when he saw Donnie. "Uh, Peach, where did you say Donnie was going?"

Peach looked up at Raph weirdly. She followed his glance across the road. She felt the anger brew inside of her. Why would Donnie lie to her about where he was going? The only thing that allowed her to keep her cool was the fact that he wasn't cheating on her, they were just doing homework. Dialing Donnie's number, she watched as he excused himself to pick up.

"Hey, sweetheart. What's up?" He answered the phone sweetly with a smile on his face.

"Why did you lie to me? You could've just told me you were going to April's house." Peach questioned.

Donatello's glance searched the area until his eyes landed on his girlfriend's form. "I knew you'd be upset if I told you."

Peach hung up the phone and stomped down the sidewalk. Donnie excused himself and began jumping the rooftops, trying to beat his brother and his girlfriend to their destination. Peach unlocked her door and opened the window for Raphael to slide in. Peach made sure to close it the moment she saw Donnie on the roof across from them.

Shutting the window, Raphael tried to lighten the tension in the room. "Look, I know it looks bad but-"

"No, I was stupid for falling in love with him. He clearly doesn't care about me!" Peach crossed her arms and plopped on her bed.

Raph sighed. He knew there was only one thing he could do to make her listen. The last thing he wanted to do was sing, but if that's what he had to do, then he would. He plopped down in her rolling chair, facing backwards so she could see his face.

"You're right, Peach. Forget about that guy." Raph waved his hand dismissively. He rolled across the room. "Forget about the way you fell into his eyes."

Peach blushed and lowered her head. Thinking about the day she and Donnie met. Raph put a hand on her shoulder. "Forget about his charms. Forget about the way he held you in his arms."

Peach hugged herself and stood from her seated position. Raph picked up a picture frame. "Walking on air's obnoxious." She walked in front of her dresser, taking the framed picture of her and Donnie from Raph.

"The thrills, the chills will make you nauseous." Raph made a fake gagging sound. "And you'll never get enough. Just forget about love."

Raph dangled a necklace Donnie made for her in her face. "Forget about romance! Forget about the way your heart begins to dance."

Peach snatched the jewelry from his three-fingered hand. "Then you feel the blush when he's spouting out some sentimental mush." He took it from her and helped her put it on as she smiled at the memory. "Love really is revolting!"

Raphael motioned towards the window, pointing to where Donnie was sitting sadly next door. "It's even worse that when you're moulting. Enough of this fluff! Just forget about love!"

Peach smiled sadly at her boyfriend outside and joined in on Raph's song. "I had almost forgotten the way it felt when he held out his hand for mine. My heart all a-flutter."

Raph smirked triumphantly, seeing that his plan was working. "Oh, how I shudder!"

"The first time we kissed."

"It won't be missed! Forget about 'is touch." Raph opened the window and guided her to her balcony while he stuck his head out of her window.

"I can't forget about his touch!"

"In the scheme of things, it doesn't matter much." ("It matters so much")

"You're better on your own. A meal becomes a banquet when you eat alone." He rubbed his stomach.

"Love's filled with compromises." Peach forgot why she was so angry at Donnie in the first place. Raph nudged her. "And don't you hate those big surprises?"

"A cozy rendezvous. ("Oh please.") Candlelight for two! ("Oh, geez.") Look you're calling my bluff!" Peach called out to Donnie as she and Raph both sang. "I can't (Just) forget about love!"

Donnie turned around and ran over to her balcony. Raphael sneaked away, seeing that his job was done. "I can't forget about my heart." She sang as she grabbed Don's hand.

He squeezed her hand. "I can't forget about my heart!"

"And how it felt to fall for you right from the start." ("I'm still falling.") Donnie picked her up and twirled her around.

"Whatever we may do."

"Whatever we may do."

He rested his forehead against hers as they both closed their eyes with wide smiles on their faces. "You are here for me, and I'll be there for you." ("I'll be there.")

Donnie hugged her tightly. "To wish, to want, to wander. To find the sun through the rain and thunder."

He held out his hand to her. "A cozy rendezvous?("Yes, please!") Candlelight for two." She took his hand as he led her to the rooftops.

"We can't forget about love!"
