Chapter 31

Tenfold pulled up at the precinct after spendin more than a few hours at the docks searchin for evidence as his partner barged in bringin coffee and donuts, reekin of cigarettes and alcohol.

Hey partner! Beautiful day today isn't it,Mac said as he took a seat next to him. Mad because he did most of the work, Tenfold felt the need to voice his concern as of why Mac didn't show up to work on time.

Where the hell were you? You were supposed to be meet me on scene, and be here an half hour ago. I spent the last hour canvassing the crime scene, with forensics just as clueless as I was wondering what the hell happened there. The captain not gone like this. Don't expect me to cover your ass if he- before Tenfold could finish his captain called out their names as he flung his door open shoutin after them. Tenfold,Mac my office right now got dammit!

Hey cap you wanted to see us,Mac said as he chewed on a breath mint waitin for him to answer.

Come on in and close the door. Have a seat. Now,I just got off the phone with the damn FBI tellin me that they are takin over the case, because it's too many bodies piling up,and all my good for nothin officers are takin a got damn holiday break! This mornin there was a house fire down on Allendale, then right here from yesterday,we have 20..fuckin..dead guys, and not a single witness or lead! Now from my guess,if we can't get a handle on this and reel in some suspects by the end of the week, you can kiss your jobs good bye! Especially you,Mac! I smelled the whiskey the moment you stepped a foot thru that door! Then, just before the FBI called, Dan call me personally and told me that you haven't been to a single AA meetin since it was court ordered of you! You gonna have to do more than just chew a fuckin breath mint to hide the fact that your breath reeks of alcohol! I'm done coverin your ass,you hear me?! After your shift, get down to the rec center and take your ass to that meetin, you got that?! If I hear you fail to make it,I will have your fuckin badge,so help me god,and you'll be forced to find a new line of work! Now piss off!

After gettin and earful from their captain,Tenfold quickly walked out and grabbed his badge and gun off his desk gettin ready to head out, as Flakko walked inside the precinct askin for Mac.

Aye mane aye,I need to see Lieutenant Mac,it's urgent. Regarding what, Tenfold asked wit his eyebrow raised. What you mean regarding what,I just said it's urgent. And I know he gone wanna hear this so..go get the boss man homie. Cause I'm not tryna talk to no ticket writers, Flakko said as he brushed him off.

Ticket writers? I don't write tickets son. See this badge? I'm a cop. I solve crimes. So if you wanna talk to someone it's the person who has the case. That's me. So I'll take the statement go on sit,Tenfold said as he pulled a chair out for him.

Flakko declined again,as he waved his hand around, before shakin his head. Hell nah bruh. I only wanna talk to Mac. Get me him, then I'll think about staying for coffee and donuts.

Tenfold sat his pen down as he got up out his chair starin at him up and down. Suddenly, Mac came up and yanked Flakko, slammin him against the wall as he cuffed him, then patted him down.

Marlo Flakko Johnson. My favorite CI. Sorry bout this buddy but there's a warrant out for your arrest,he said as Flakko argued wit him. Mane whaaat? I aint got no motherfuckin warrants! Quit playin. I came here to give you information, not get arrested the fuck man,he said as Mac chuckled.

Funny how that works huh? And this warrant..is for failure to appear to court. Detective do me a favor and take him down, get him booked and tell them throw him in a holdin cell, will ya? I'm gonna go take a piss before we hit the battlefield,Mac said pushin him over to his partner.

Gettin walked downstairs,Flakko snatched his arm away as Tenfold grabbed him again and spoke. Oh you wanna run? Go head, see how far you get. Feel free to keep the cuffs. I'd be pissed too if I was goin straight to holdin after walkin in all innocent. If you would've just talked to me,you wouldn't be gettin locked up on an outstanding warrant. I been here five months, and already studied Mac. I know how he moves and I know how he act when he's mad. Don't get me wrong, don't get me wrong he takin it out on you, but it ain't you he mad at. See,our captain upstairs just yelled at him about not goin to his AA meetins and some police business. I'm a whole lot nicer than Mac. A whole lot. If he wants to arrest you for something simple as spittin on the sidewalk, then I can't interfere with that. But here we are in the middle of the hallway with multiple blind spots, and no audio. If you had talked to me,you'd be walkin outta here right now, worrying bout that warrant another time. The worst thing about this,is you will have to stay overnight, can't see the judge til tomorrow or Tuesday. But that depends on the judge. Like I said, I'm a whole lot nicer than him. I don't care for warrants that aren't serious enough for my attention. I only care for solvin my cases, and gettin these families justice. And just this once,I'm gonna offer you a get out of jail free card. Offer expires in two minutes. Help me,I'll help you. So..let me ask you something. Excuse my trainin' day reference but you wanna go to jail or you wanna go home? You wanna go to jail, stay quiet. You wanna go home, start talkin,Tenfold said as he watched him put his head down again. No? Alright let's go,times up.
