We're Not Mates?

Bella's pov:  

My plane just landed, officially popping my ears. I grabbed my bag and started walking to the Volterra castle. It's a time like this that I'm glad I saved Edward. Bastard. Well at least I know where to go. Once I spotted the clock tower I took off my heels, and ran as fast as possible. Once I reached the clock tower I knocked on the door and Jane answered. 

"What do you want? We don't need scummy humans-" 

"Look, I don't give a crud right now okay. I just broke up with a bastard boyfriend, and I'm in a great mood. I don't need you messing it up!" I interrupted. I gave her the don't F with me look. She then moved to let me in. 

"I need to speak with Aro." 

"He's busy." She said sternly. 

"Does it look like I care?"I said just as stern. She 'humpfed' and lead the way to the throne room. She pushed open the door to walk in. 

"Aro, we've got another visitor." 

"We?" He asked, but I wasn't paying any attention. Only one person in the room caught my eye. 

"Jasper?" I whispered, knowing he would hear me as clear as day. He turned around, and pure shock touched his face. 

"Bella? What are you doing here?" 

"I could ask the same of you," I looked him and then Aro," is he finished speaking? I have a rather important matter to discuss." Aro looked at me and the realization hit him in the face. 

"Isabella! What a pleasure! Yes, yes of course. What is it you'd like to discuss?" I sighed. 

"We'll Aro, first comes first. I'd like to live with you As a vampire. Also, I broke up with Edward, so if his stupid self shows up and is following me around, please allow me to punch him. Or I could kick him where the sun don't shine, both would work just fine. I'd highly appreciate it." I said. 

"Well of course you can join our family! If you don't mind my asking, why break it with Edward?" 

" I don't mind at all. I broke up with him because I'm 22 now. I don't need him babying me everywhere I go. To make a long story short, I was just there to fill his desires of having a girl by his side. I was fed up with it so I ended the relationship, and told him to grow some b•••s when he pleaded like a baby for me to stay." I explained. Cauis started to laugh and I joined in. 

"Nice job! I couldn't have said it better myself! I can tell you and I will get along just fine." He said in between laughs. 

"Indeed we will." I agreed. 

"So, when do you want to change?" 

"Excuse?" I thought what I was wearing was fine. 

"Into a vampire of course." 

"Oh...duh! Sorry, I had a brain fart. Um...is later today okay? The sooner the better." I asked. 

"Sounds excellent! Jasper, since you've visited us before, will you show Bella to her room?" 

"Of course Aro. Follow me Bella." I did as he said and found the the castle is big and beautiful. We past a library, an art studio, and a wonderful garden on the way to my room. A few minutes later we were in front of my room.  

"Here you are, and if you want me, my room is across the hall." He started to walk away. 

"Hey Jasper! Can you come inside real quick? I want to talk." I asked opening the door. He nodded and came to hold the door open for me. 

"Ladies first." I smiled and walked inside, to the bed and sat down. Jasper closed the door and came to sit next to me. 

"Jasper, be honest. Why are you here?" 

"Do you honestly want to know? It's not a very nice story." He said. That made me even more curious. I nodded and he sighed. 

"Well, I was in my office thinking of what you'd said before you left. I found it to be true. Then I heard a loud moan coming from Alice's room. I thought I was crazy. I walked in the hall and heard it again. I burst open the door and found Alice and Emmett making love on the floor. They didn't notice I was there until I got Rosalie and she started yelling. Alice told us that her and Emmett, or Emmy bear as she calls him, are real mates and are married. They only pretended to be our mates 'cause they knew how lonely we'd be. So, I punched Emmett,packed my bags and came here in hopes of a new start." 

"I'm gonna kill them! You didn't deserve that. I don't care if they thought they were helping. It's deceitful!" 

"Bella calm down. At least now I know the truth. My life won't be a lie anymore. Oh and I also told her that we are getting a divorce." 

"Good for you Jasper." I whispered, happy for him. 

"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned. 

"Nothing." I lied. 

"Bella, come on tell me. You can't lie to an empath."he said. His face looked like he wanted to say 'Duh!', but he kept quiet. 

"It's just that I thought the Cullen's were different, you know. All they do is bring people discomfort,pain, and annoyance. Something must've mislead me into thinking that they were okay people. I think I was just blinded by the fact that a guy liked me." I finished. He looked at me and then engulfed me in a hug. 

"I'm sorry, all I'm doing is complaining." 

"No worries." He still didn't let go. 

"Hey Jasper? Are you okay? Will you be okay?" 

There's no need to worry 'bout me darlin'." 

"Well seeing as I'm going to be living here with you for awhile, I might worry a little about how you feel." He chuckled. 

"I don't know. I think I'm just....broken." He tried to explain. 

"Well then, I'm making it my job to heal you." I vowed. He let go of me and smiled. I was suddenly sad. I -surprisingly- was comfortable in his arms. 

"Do you think they ever loved us?" 

"Us? They?" He questioned. 

"Oh come on Jasper. I know you knew. He didn't really love me. I could see it in his eyes or way he touched me. I could tell by the way his kisses felt- no passion or love what so ever. My only purpose with the Cullen family was to make them think Edward found love. It wasn't real, just lies. I even remember him telling me to 'keep quiet' one day. So like I said. Do you think they ever cared?" I said, fiddling with a locket my mother gave me.

      "No, you said did they ever love us." I save him the 'don't F with me look'.  He sighed.

   "They might not love us, but I truly think they cared about our feelings." I just nodded.

    "Thanks for the talk Jasper."

   "No problem, darlin'." There was a knock on the door.

    "Come in." It was Jane.

  "Aro sent me. It's time for you to be bitten."

     "Do you mind if Jasper does it?"

  "Nope, saves the trouble." I looked at Jasper pleadingly.

  "If she does it  she'll feel no remorse in taking my life." He nodded and came towards me. He brought his lips to my ear.

    "I'll be right here when you wake. I promise." With that he bit my neck. 

 The pain was unbelievable. It was way worse then the way the Cullens said it was. The pain was feels like being pushed into boiling lava. It feels like getting hit by a speeding bus, falling into toxic waste, and being squished my a bolder all at the same time. My heart sped and i swear I felt lips against mine before my heart stopped.....

but I could just be imagining things.....
