Highschool. It's terrifying as it is without having to start over at a new school halfway through it. My name is Clarke Griffin and I'm a junior at my new school Ark High. New faces, a new building... Talk about terrifying. But I'll make it through... Hopefully.

"Hey new girl. I'm Octavia"

I look up and a beautiful girl with brown hair and shining eyes stands over me as I sit at my desk before first period begins.

"Oh, uh, hey. I'm Clarke." I give her a small smile and return to looking down at the picture I was sketching. A beautiful, untouched forest landscape.

"Don't talk much do you?" She plops down in the seat next to me and I realize that she isn't going anywhere so I close my sketch book.

"I just didn't know what to say" I reply and she shrugs. Right then, 2 nerdy (yet endearing) looking boys walk in the classroom.

Octavia points to the Asian looking one and says "that's Monty. Tech WIZARD right there. He's fixed me phone countless times." I laugh slightly at that and she moves to the other one who has brown, shaggy hair and was tall and willowy. "That's Jasper. Him and I used to have a thing but we are over it. We're buds now." She waves them over and they sit down. She introduces me and I give a small wave. I can already tell Octavia is very outgoing and has kind of attached herself to me but it feels good to have a friend. I start to join into the conversation more with Monty and Jasper and it's comforting that I don't have to sit alone. Then, the bell rings and class has begun.

After class, Monty and Jasper rush out after saying goodbye. Octavia and I walk to her locker and a cute boy walks up to Octavia and says "hey Octavia, why don't you and your friend join me at lunch today?"

He barely finished his sentence when a tall senior boy, that looked more like a man, walked up and pulled him back by the shoulders while saying "why would she wanna sit with you? Just leave her alone". This boy was terrifying. It must be her boyfriend.

"Really Bellamy? Why do you have to go scaring away all the cute boys?" Octavia wines to this mysterious dark haired boy.

"Because my job as you big brother is to protect you from idiots like him." Oh. Well I guess I was wrong about him being her boyfriend. He continues, "He was just going to sweet talk you, get you to like him, then he will bang you and leave you." Jeez, he was harsh. Octavia just rolls her eyes and pushes him out of the way as we start walking towards our next class. He didn't even see me there.
