here's the real chapter for u guys 🥰
"What the hell just happened?" I asked Madison, letting her sit me down on the couch. She took no time in putting her hand on my knee and rubbing it softly. "What did I do?"
"You didn't do anything, Y/N, don't let her get to you. Look at me," she took my face in her hands and wiped away the tears that continued to fall. "She doesn't know what she's saying, she's drunk."
"She said I didn't fight for her—"
"She cheated on you, it wasn't your place to fight. Besides, it was months ago, it doesn't matter anymore, just calm down," she reassured me, gripping the space between my jaw and neck, her thumb rubbing a dark spot she had left this morning.
I could hardly hear her though, because outside Camila still cried my name. And through the windows we could see flashes of light, from the paparazzi that Camila warned me about.
"I told her I didn't love her, I told her she had to move on, I told her..." My voice rambled off into incoherent words, the shock still making it hard to talk.
Madison watched me with sadness swimming in her brown eyes. I bit the inside of my lip and felt my breathing become slightly easier when I was able to fully turn my attention to her; the soft skin freckles across her nose, and the glossy texture of her lips.
"I love you," I rasped, resting my forehead against hers.
"I know, baby, just relax. Just relax," she repeated, her hand was around the back of my neck, holding us together.
I started focusing more of my attention on my breathing. Trying to elongate each breath I took so the pressing feeling of a weight on my chest might fade away, and my head stop spinning.
But it wasn't working. My hands began to shake, so I clamped them shut and squeezed. It seemed the pounding in my heart only intensified, like a horse racing to the finish line. I could feel the hooves beating against my chest, the cheers of the crowd ringing in my ears.
"Madison."
"Y/N, you just need to calm down. Here, breathe with me—"
"It's not working. Nothing's working."
"Just trust me. Follow me, okay? Do exactly what I do," her hand forced my closed right hand open, revealing lightly bloodied marks where my fingernails had dug into the skin. She ignored it and interlocked our fingers together.
She began to breathe slowly, dramatizing the movements of her chest for me to follow. In, out. My breaths were wavy, cut like a knife swung back and forth, breaking the waves.
I tried to follow her, in, out, but the tingling in my hands hadn't subsided even merely.
"Something is wrong," I declared, a tear slipping from the corner of my eye and catching onto her hand.
Madison furrowed her eyebrows, sitting back so she could look directly into my eyes. I was afraid, truly afraid. She saw it.
"What do you want me to do?" She asked calmly, "Can I get you some water?"
"I need to walk. A walk. I need to take a walk," I struggled to say. She nodded her head quickly and stood up, our hands still together.
But when I tried to follow her, my turning head began to dim. I tried to take a step but it was as if my feet were a mile away, I could hardly feel the floor.
Madison said something, my name possibly. I looked up, meeting her nervous eyes. Her lips were moving but I couldn't hear a thing.
Tunnel vision. Madison was calling out to someone, Luke maybe. He rushed in a few moments later. The last thing I remember was the way his silly blonde hair bounced as he hurried over to us, before my legs crumbled under me and I passed out.
