Harumi felt her world warp and turn and flash and twist for a good few minutes before she came to be with herself. Her eyes fluttered open. And she found herself in a room with no one else in it other than herself. She was in the same testing room though. Same chair. Same walls. Same mirror. But nothing else.
Her head glanced around a bit, and she happened to feel a bit hazy. 'must be a side effect of the cerum.' she told herself, quickly getting up and off of the uncomfortable chair she sat in. Harumi looked around once more, looking for anyone else. No one. Not a soul. She was alone. Completely. Her eyes drifted towards the same mirror and she walked to it slowly as it was only right across from her. She looked at herself and only saw a confused face. She didn't know what to expect. Didn't know what would happen.
Slowly Harumi blinked and pressed her soft, delicate fingers against the mirror as if she was trying to touch her own reflection. The mirror was cold. Almost as cold as the world now. A slight ring came to her ear and she dragged her fingers down a bit, before releasing their soft touch on the wall to fall onto the straps of her dress that rested neatly on her hips and waist. She turned her head to the left, to see what looked like an everlasting ocean of mirrors and then herself staring back. Her reflection looked back at her with a shocked gaze. That wasn't there before. She looked again. The reflection behind that reflection faced away, while another one faced that one, and that seemed to continue forever.
A chill went up her spine as she felt a lump develop in her upper throat area. The girl turned back to face herself. Now it was even worse. More mirrors. More reflections of herself. From all angles. Every single corner of the so called room, she didn't even know if it was called that anymore, had herself in it. As she slowly stepped around to let her eyes drift softly over her reflections, she began to take steps. Steps forward in what she now confirmed to be some kind of maze of mirrors that was impossible to get out of unless if she passed the test with a confirmed sector.
Tentivley the girl stepped one foot at a time. Right. Left. Right. Left. Over and over. The place was dead silent, only the pitter patter the leather fabric of her brown shoes made against the marble yellow floors. As she walked her eyes followed another one of her own reflections. It followed her back, looking her dead in the eyes as if the clone of herself was not a reflection, but a real person. Harumi walked a little slower, taking in the broadness of the room as not only the lump in her throat grew, but sweat began to drip from her forehead. This place gave her the chills. Harumi circled the reflection for a while longer, her face no longer strong. Bit mysteriously. Her reflections face remained emotionless.
The white haired girl took a shaky breath in and out, making sure to let in as much air as possible to calm her rapidly beating heart. As soon as she finally stopped circling the one reflection it stopped with her and stood straight as she did. She heard a laugh behind her and a gasp was let out of her lips. She whipped around to the opposite side of herself as she heard it echo and bounce off of the glass walls. Her furrows burrowed as she heard the laugh get fainter and fainter and fainter, falling and running into the depths of the endless escape room.
Finally Harumi had the courage to swallow the lump in her throat. To stop being afraid of her own reflection and things she heard as she knew this was all but an hallucination. Taking another deep breath, she walked forward to touch the same mirror she had earlier. Left. Right. Left. Right. The sounds of her shoes again were the only things she focused on as she had dissed the sudden laugh. Instead though that reflection she approached did not move. So she touched her own shoulder and shock racked her body inside and out. Harumi trembled and shook a bit. Yanking her hands back, she pressed them against her chest.
