Runaway - Ed Sheeran
I know what I wanna do, wanna runaway, runaway with you.

My eyes constantly flickered towards my closed door, waiting for the time the door opens to ruin it all. In under twenty minutes, my medium sized bag was shut, filled the the absolute necessities. The money that my parents planned for my intuition was alost safely tucked away in my bag. Why waste money when I could use it now?The time read 7:12 AM, and I was now ready to go. Ready to finally make myself happy. It wouldn't be so soon, but somewhere down the track, my happiness was awaiting me.
Trying not to wake anyone, I swung my bag over my shoulder and double checked my room to see if I had forgotten anything. Noticing my wallet and charger on the dresser, I grabbed those then carefully closed the blinds again to make it seem as I was still sleeping. I stepped out of my room and closed the door. Descending down the steps and trying not to waste any time, I grabbed a fews fruits and a bottle of water and stuffed them in my bag. I made it to the front door and unlocked it as quietly as I could before stepping outside and closing the door, relocking it with my key.
I stepped back and for just a few seconds, I looked at my house. Now that I looked back, I never felt at home or at ease. Sure, I always said 'I'm going home' and all those phrases with the word 'home' in them, but I never truly felt like I was at home. Home is full of love and comfort, you feel as if you belong there. A house is simply a place where you live, a building, it is a material, an object.
Realising I stayed a bit too long, I turned around to finish my mission - if you would call it that. I almost threw my bag into the backseat and practically lunged myself into the driver's seat of my car. I braced for the worst, the sound of the car turning on. Once I turned it on I could not waste any time as theres a likely chace one or both of my parents would awake.
"Please open, please open..." I repeated as my hand settled on the key in the ignition.
I rarely ever used my car. The old looking Holden was always sitting in the driveway, dust lightly settling on top. I'd always preferred taking taxis, buses or any sort of public transport. That way I didn't have to worry about over-thinking or getting distracted and crashing. It seemed much easier that way.
My mind moved back to what I was supposed to be doing. I breathed in, crossed my fingers of my other hand for luck, then finally turned the key.
My car rumbled to life, spluttering at first but eventually working, interrupting the silence of the early morning. I changed the gear to drive, pulled up my handbrake and stepped on the gas. There's no turning back now.
-
Not even twenty minutes into the drive to God knows where, I took a pit stop. Partly to get more food and drinks, and party to plan where I was going to 'run away' to.I had absolutely no idea where I was gonna go. No clue at all. I sighed while placing my forehead on the wheel. I should have planned this way more than I did.
After a few minutes of thinking a bit, and after I had filled my tank up, I got out of the car. My mind still not having a clue of where I was heading. I locked my car then headed inside the little store of the gas station.
Not finding anything interesting, I got what I normally liked to have. A bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos and a can of Arizona. With another sigh, I payed for everything and walked out the store.
-
After my fifth time trying, I hit the wheel frustratingly with my hands and groaned, leaning my head back on the head rest. Why won't this stupid car work anymore? I was lucky enough to have it start when I was leaving, but I also need it to work now. I'm not even twenty minutes away, I could be caught any time and be brought back to my house.
I tried one more time, hoping and pleading it would start, but I had no such luck, again.
I leaned back in my seat and sighed for what seemed like the millionth time. I pulled on my hair slightly and placed my forehead on the wheel again, slightly puffed out from my frustration.
Beginning to sulk, I ate more chips and drank more of my drink. Why couldn't the answer just come to me? Where the hell am I going to go? Do I stay in Nevada or go out of the state?
Today I had done way too much thinking. All the questions are still unanswered and it made my head hurt.
I swished my drink around while thinking some more. Out of curiosity I looked at the back of the drink to see what it held, but I knew I was basically drinking a can of sugar.
I looked at it more, liking the nice designs of the can. I stared at the name of the can for a few moments, not processing anything before it actually clicked.
With a new determination in mind, I tried turning my car on twice before it actually worked. I kinda squealed out of happiness after it worked, having tried to start the stupid car so many times.
I exited the gas station and started driving again, finally knowing where I was going.
Are Arizona drinks made in Arizona?
~
Sorry it's so short I felt as if that was a good place to end it lol
I felt bad about not updating (partly because my friend forced me and party because I didn't have this as planned out as I want) so I'm actually uploading this at my beach house where there's no wifi lol pray for me
Peace out & poodle pout
