I ran down the stairs and into someone's back.
"Nice to see you're still as clumsy as ever Bambi." I heard a deep voice say sweetly.
At that moment all of my confusion and worries went out the window. My dad was standing in front of me.
With as much force as I have ever used I jumped into his arms. He held me with just as much love as I hugged him.
"I missed you so much dad." I whispered to him.
"Not as much as I missed you Bambi." He whispered back. I laughed at his ridiculous nickname that I've begged him to stop calling me but at this moment I wouldn't want it any other way.
We pulled back and I realized that there was a crowd watching this encounter and they looked undoubtedly uncomfortable.
"Dad aren't you supposed to be somewhere doing a report, It's only been 4 months." I asked worriedly.
"Yeah, well my report fell through but my boss found a new story, so I'm waiting for him to tell me where I'm going, but since I got a little free time I wanted to visit my little Bambi." He smiled down at me.
"I missed you so much dad." I tried to hold back tears but I barely could. Dad hugged me and all of my problems went away.
"Where is Carol and her lug of a husband Richard." My dad joked, but the boys didn't seem to find that joke too funny.
"He's in his Man Cave and mom should be home in about 5 minutes sir." Victor answered respectfully.
"And who are you and your friends?" My dad asked while sizing them up and down. The boys didn't seem to like that either. The tension in the room was almost unbearable.
"I'm Victor Carol's oldest son and these are my brothers. Leo, Jayson, Ricky, Oliver, Leroy, Cason, Giovanni, Raphael, Michelangelo, Ace, and Apollo." Victor smiled at my dad but I knew it wasn't sincere.
My dad looked like he wanted to murder 12 people and all of them looked like they wanted to take turns killing my father.
"All of you neutered?"
"DAD!!!"
I hurry and cut him off. Ricky opened his mouth to say something rude but Victor quickly slapped his hand over his mouth. If looks could kill I think this whole house would be under the aquifer by now.
"Sir, we are not of any threat to Niyah. She's on her level of the house and we are on ours. We go to school, come home, and repeat. We treat her as family." Leo lied straight through his teeth.
"Kind of hard to believe that when 12 boys are in the same house as a female around the same age." My dad spit back at Leo.
"Your daughter is very much a beautiful young woman but we all have studies we like to keep up to par and dealing with the opposite sex seems too distracting." Leroy said while pushing his reading glasses further up his nose like the cutest dork ever.
If they were actors this would be a hell of an episode of lies. Not one of them broke character and Ricky actually kept his mouth shut for once. I should have taken a video of this shit.
"Where is your father?" My dad asked annoyed. Vic lead the way to the man cave while I stayed with the boys. As soon as my dad left the room I was met with harsh stares.
"Niyah what the hell Is his problem?" Giovanni was first to snap. I on the other hand wasn't having his attitude for today.
"Well i don't know maybe it's the fact that his only daughter is in a house with 12 boys, or maybe it was the glares he was receiving early on into the conversation, OR maybe, just maybe the tone of voice that was used with him..."
