Just a Stupid Party

The match was lost. Elliott had made a stupid decision and gotten us killed, but of course he would never admit that he had made a mistake. He believes it was my fault because I had thrown my ultimate at the wrong time, but we don't see him making his ultimate useful for the whole team.

The match had been won by Natalie, and although I didn't like losing, I was happy for her. My mind still lingered to where Natalie had refused to kill me. I would have been an easy takedown and she would have gotten extra money for her victory.

I was waiting in the lobby for Natalie when I hear Elliott exclaim from beside me. I jump and look over to see him hugging Bloodhound.

"You did so great!" He yells. Bloodhound thanks him as Elliott kisses the front of their mask. I look to them with a hint of jealousy. They seem so happy together. They genuinely loved eachother and I wished to have that too.

I feel a poke on my shoulder and I look over to see Natalie. I smile at her and congratulate her. She smiled widely and giggles.

"Thank you! You did very well too." She says happily. "Hey, so there is this party tonight at Elliott's place that he invited me to. He said I could bring a guest, so would you like to come with me?"

Hmm, let me think, a loud night in the house of someone whom I greatly dislike as people get in my personal space too often. Hard pass. But- this wasn't just anyone asking me to go with them, this was Natalie. I couldn't just say no, and I think I could deal with people tonight, especially for her. After all, it was just a stupid party.

"Sure, I suppose I can go with you. Is it more formal or casual?" I ask. Her face lights up and she hugs me without warning. I blush as I chuckle slightly and hug her back. She pulls away from me with a heavy blush on her face.

"Its formal, do you want to meet at your house in arround two hours? I know to address." She says with a bit of an embarrassed smile. "I'll see you later then?" I nod to her and she walks over to lifeline with a smile. Before I leave the building I see Ajay glancing over at me. I look back at her and she quickly looks back away and smiles to Natalie, vigorously nodding.

I turn away and head to my home. The walk back was just as it usually is, boring and eventless. Nothing was ever very interesting.

As I reached my home, I went strait to my closet to loom for a nice suit. I pulled out a nice grey suit. This shall have to do. I go through my ties and they all seemed kind of ugly, well all but one. I like my all green tie. It's the only one I usually wear, but I had the others just in case.

I hope she likes my suit. Hopefully it isn't too old. Perhaps I should do my hair the way she likes it. I walk into my bathroom and wash my face and brushing my hair. I smile at myself. Maybe she would like me.

Why was I getting so excited over a silly old party? Its not like its a date or anything. Right? Its not a date, right? But what if she thought it was? What if it was? God, I'm getting myself nervous. I would love it if it was a date, but would she? I don't know.

I head back into my room and put the suit on piece by piece. What if she wanted to dance? God, I can't dance! Its been years sense I've even considered dancing! Perhaps I should have considered this more. Well, I can't back out now and this would make her happy, so it is worth it.

I tie my tie and put on my overcoat. I guess it is a good thing that I'm going. I haven't been to a party in a long while. It should be good for me.

I headed back to the bathroom and got out my cologne. One or two sprays should do. I go with one spray and head out of the bathroom. All that was left for me to do is wait for Natalie to arrive. I went and sat on my kitchen counter and fiddled with my thumbs, nervously waiting. I got up and paced arround the kitchen.

She should be here soon. I check my watch. Yes, she should. It has already been two hours. Maybe she isn't coming at all, maybe she decided against it and I'm getting myself worked up for nothing.

Just as I am about to go to take everything off, I hear a knock on my door. My heart pounds out of my chest as I walk over to the door. I shakily open it, revealing the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Before me stood Natalie in a dull sapphire coloured dress, which faded into a gold bottom. It went down to just above her knees and she wore a nice pair of flats. Around her neck was a singular golden necklace which held her initials on a heart. Her golden hair had, never looked so fine and her eyes beamed up at me, forcing me to smile.

"Hello Natalie." I say to her. She smiles her mesmerizing smile and waves to me. "You look wonderfull." I say with a smile, making a slight rosy blush arise to my face. She blushed as well and smiled even wider.

"You look very nice too, Alexander." She says as she looks me over. I give her a happy smile. My heartfelt like it was melting and my stomach felt knotted.

"Let's be on our way. We don't want to be late." I say as I lead her to my car. It was a very nice car which I kept very clean. She sat in the passenger seat as I started the car.

To think I acted so bubbly, oh the humiliation I would normally feel, but tonight I did not feel like that. I was meant to have fun tonight, even if I didn't like people, this was just a stupid party.
