Walter and Scooby Doo and the Mystery of Zombie Island

Chapter 9

The rest of the gang had decided to go back to the house to make sure Lena and Simone where okay. 

But when they arrived, they discovered the same hidden cavern Shaggy, Walter and Scooby had found earlier, underneath the house. This secret cavern seemed to be a place for voodoo rituals and had a mysterious moon dial in the center of the room. 

But they also discovered something else rather shocking that they never expected...

The gang was soon trapped due to the waxed voodoo dolls of themselves by Lena and Simone, as they now revealed their true colors as these evil cat-like demons. 

"This is more haunted stuff than I really wanted?" Daphne said fearfully. 

Oh, who could possibly save our heroes now?...

Meanwhile, back with Shaggy, Scooby and Walter~

The boys had been on the run from the zombies for awhile now and were soon coming up on a clearing.

"Come on! This way!" Walter said, leading Shaggy and Scooby. 

They soon made it down to the docks, where Jacques just happened to be there waiting for them with the ferry. 

"Jacques!" Shaggy cried in relief. "Like, are we ever glad to see you!"

"Reah!" Scooby agreed. 

"There's no time to waste!" Walter then said to Jacques, warning him. "We're being chased by zombies and our friends might be in danger!" 

"I am happy to see y'all" Jacques said in a calmly manner, which Walter found rather strange. Until suddenly, he turned into a vicious cat creature. 

Shaggy and Scooby screamed out of pure horror. 

"WHAT THE!?!" Walter couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was almost like a scene from 'The Wolfman' which Walter would watch some nights with his friends and some date nights with Jane. 

Only this wasn't a movie... It was real!

The boys quickly dashed back off into the forest, with Jacques hot on their tails. 

Back in the hidden cavern with the gang, Simone explained to them that 200 years ago, she and Lena were part of a group of settlers on the island who were devoted to a cat god. Morgan Moonscar had been the cause of all this when he and his pirate crew invaded the island and chased the settlers into the bayou to be eaten by alligators. 

Set out for revenge, Simone and Lena asked their cat god to put a curse on the pirates. to destroy them as they had destroyed their island. Their wish was granted, as they became cat creatures. Only afterwards they discovered that by invoking the cat god's power had cursed them as well, requiring that they drain life forces every harvest moon to preserve their immortality. They had also given Jacques immortality so they could have a ferry-driver to bring them more victims. 

And those zombies had been their previous victims. They were only trying to warn the gang to leave the island so they wouldn't suffer the same fate they did, the gang had shockingly come to realize. 

Meanwhile, back out in the creepy swamp~

The boys had continued running from Jacques, who they thought was right behind them but suddenly appeared right in front of them. 

Shaggy and Scooby froze in terror. 

"Going somewhere?" Jacques said darkly, then lifted Shaggy and Scooby up in both of his hands with his super strong strength. 

The cowardly duo screamed, struggling to get free. 

"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" Jacques then taunted them.
