Doctor Roo?

Characters: Ripper roo, Cortex, N.gin,Tiny, and N.brio

"Finished!" Cortex shouted out victoriously as he looked around at all of the portals in the jungle warp room.

He had been working on each warp room for the past 12 hours starting with the space warp room and ending with the jungle warp room. The latter being slightly more difficult to construct than the others but the result could not have looked better.

"Oh master," a robotic voice spoke, "it looks beautiful."

"Indeed it does n.gin," cortex replied his back still facing the cyborg, "however, I still need to figure out who will guard the boss portal. (Yes I am aware that I am breaking the fourth wall, get over it!) The komodo brothers do not wish to separate and we need someone to- huh!?! TINY? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?"

The scientists both turned their attention to the Tasmanian tiger looming over them.

"Tiny want to be the one to crush the little bandicoot." He growled at his 'human masters'.

"Tiny I already told you, that you will be able to take care of crash when and if he advances to the sewer warp room." Cortex explained calmly.

"Tiny want to be FIRST one to crush bandicoot!" The tiger clarified.

"NO," the yellow scientist yelled ironically causing the big creature to flinch, "we need to start off easy with the bandicoot. No offense, but if we throw something like you at him then we will lose our only way of gathering up the crystals."

Tiny looked down at his shoes disappointed and slightly angry while n.gin watched his fully organic master pace back and forth, stroking his beard.

"We need someone whom crash can relate to. Someone who he had contact with before. Someone-" cortex spoke out loud until he was stopped by the sound of one of the portals activating.

The trio then looked at the now active turtle woods portal and witnessed a new figure coming out of it.

"INTRUDER!!!" Tiny roared, ready to attack the newcomer.

"Wait tiny, STOP!" Cortex shouted at the tiger. Tiny immediately dropping his defenses.

"Who are-," the scientist was about to ask before taking another look at the visitor, "wait.........RIPPER ROO?!?"

"Greetings my dear creator," ripper roo 'spoke' with clear english, slightly tipping his hat at the astonished scientist, "and my name is no longer ripper roo, it is now doctor roo."

Everyone had a bewildered look on their faces as they stared at the formerly insane kangaroo. Cortex was the first one to talk again.

"Doctor roo," he said curiously, "how did you get that title?"

"Well first I had to undergo some intense therapy," roo started a bit sadly for the first part but quickly lightened up, "and then I went to college for eight years and got my degree."

"Oh that's very impressive," cortex complemented, "though I am going to assume that you are still going through therapy as you are still wearing that straitjacket."

"Well yes, but only once a week now," roo explained, "I was told I could have it taken off but I have decided to keep it as a reminder of who I once was. It is also pretty comfortable."

Cortex hummed in understanding as n.gin went over to nudged his arm.

"Master, I think we have our 'someone'." He spoke trying not to giggle.

"Oh yes," cortex said quietly before speaking to the kangaroo again, "Well ripper-erm I mean doctor roo, I am glad that you are here, my cronies and I need your help."

"Oh, of course cortex," roo replied, "whatever it is you need?"

"It is crash bandicoot," he spoke dramatically, "he has stolen the crystals that I need to use in order to save our planet. Please doctor roo, help us get the crystals back, we haven't much time?"

"Oh my, I will indeed help you my creator." Roo said with a determined look on his face.

"Excellent I knew I could count on you, roo," Cortex exclaimed happily, "now I am sure that crash will be back in a matter of minutes, so you can go wait in that big portal until he arrives. Come n.gin, we must make sure that the master power crystal is still secure."

"Yes master." N.gin replied following cortex up to their space hideout.

Roo and tiny watched as the two were lifted up and then when they were sure they were gone tiny spoke.

"Cortex claims to be smart, but cortex is not." He said to the kangaroo.

"I agree with you there, my gigantic mammal friend." Roo replied.

Suddenly, a projection of n.brio appeared in front of the duo.

"S-s-so, did you trick-trick cortex?" He asked.

"Affirmative, neo cortex has no clue of your return. In fact, him trusting us will be his ultimate downfall." Roo spoke proudly with a grin on his face.

"Wonderful," brio shouted while let out a goofy laugh, "n-now remember, as long as cr-crash is still collecting the-the crystals for c-cortex, he will be our sworn enemy w-w-who must be st-stopped no matter what!"

With that n.brio's projection disappeared, roo and tiny shook hands(tiny shook roo's foot) and they parted ways. Tiny wished roo good luck as he went back up to the sewer warp room. Roo whispered the word 'godspeed' and hopped his way into the boss portal awaiting for the bandicoot's arrival.
