Class droned on and I did my usual, jotting down notes to keep myself alert and present. I was currently in College Algebra and everything seemed easy to me. In high school math was the easiest subject for me; I could solve problems in less than a minute.

In no time the class ended and I wrote down my assignment heading to my next class which was Environmental Science. I trudged up the stairs to the Science building, finding the room in no time. I took a seat against a wall and near the door. I decided this would be the best chance I had all day to complete my math assignment.

By the time class began, I had already completed the math assignment. I glanced up from my paper and saw that the class was pretty full with the professor seated at the front.

The class ended in a flash and I was thankful that out of all of my classes so far, I wasn't given an assignment to do. I kept to myself throughout the entire class only because this one was filled with chauvinistic morons and bimbos. I exited silently, making my way back to my dorm. I entered and saw Effy on her laptop. The room was spotless, a very different sight than this morning.

"Hey Willow! I cleaned up that terrible mess I created, sorry about that." She said as she typed. I walked over and set my backpack down on my small desk chair, unloading my textbooks slowly.

"Oh wow. It looks great, what are you working on?" I questioned, sitting on my bed. I slipped off my shoes, crossing my legs.

"Some emails. The grandparents wanted to see how my first day was. They don't believe in the whole texting thing, it's either calls or emails." She responded as she shut her laptop and turned to face me.

"That's cool. So you know that guy, Carter, that you met at the coffee shop today?" I asked, smiling at her.

"Yeah, what about him?" She replied, putting her hair back into a ponytail. I wasn't sure how'd she react to what I was going to ask. She barely knew Carter and had no idea who Rylan was.

"Well he his having a get together at his friends house tonight and invited me. I was wondering if you'd like to join. Have no fear, he said I could invite you since I wouldn't know anyone other than him there." I said, looking at her with hope.

"Of course! It sounds like fun and it gives me a reason to look cute." She said, smiling. I glanced over at the time at saw it was a little after five. My phone buzzed in my pocket, notifying me of a text message. I pulled the phone out and opened the message and saw it was from Carter. The message read to meet at the address below around seven.

"Hey, so we need to be at Carter's friends house around seven." I stated, stretching my arms a bit.

"Cool. I'll start getting ready." She retorted as she rose, searching for something in one of her many makeup bags.

Effy began getting ready and within an hour I read all of the pages my English assignment with enough time to get ready. I quickly curled my hair, brushing out the curls for a wavy effect. I applied a lite coat of makeup, scanning my closet for something nice to wear. My eyes fell upon the perfect outfit. I chose to wear a white tank, ripped jeans, an army jacket and brown combat boots.

By the time I had my boots laced up, Effy was getting her shoes on. I glanced at the time and it was 6:50. According to the GPS, Carter's friends house was about 15 minutes away from campus. I grabbed a black cross-body bag and stuffed my phone, keys, and wallet inside.

As Effy drove, I gave her the directions to the party. We arrived and my eyes took in the house, surprised of how massive it was. The driveway was lined up with at least five other cars.

Effy and I made our way inside, since I already attempted to knock and the music was drowning out any form of sound. As we entered, I saw people everywhere. Some were conversing in the living room whereas others talked out by the pool. My eyes scanned for Carter and finally they fell upon him in the kitchen. I grabbed Effy's hand and walked with her over to the kitchen.
