I could hardly sleep last night. A lot had to do with finally getting to bed at two in the morning, the small other portion was because of how freaking ridiculous I was being. The possibility of something happening with Rylan was slim to none. We did have a lot in common but I was this awkward girl and he was this really good looking guy.

"What's wrong?" Effy asked, looking up from her textbook. I hadn't realized how deep in thought I came across.

"Nothing, just thinking." I replied, closing my History textbook. There was no hope trying to study, my online test wasn't even due until next week. I had decided to take History online, only to lessen the amount of classes I actually had to attend.

Effy typed away on her phone with a big smile on her face. I had the feeling she was talking to Carter, but I didn't want to assume.

"So last night I saw you with Carter, you two really seemed to hit it off." I stated, smirking at her. She was preoccupied with typing away on her phone. She glanced up from her phone, a smiled placed on her face.

"We did. He is really sweet and we have a bunch in common. I feel like we've known each other our whole lives." She responded, looking at me as she continued to type a message to him.

"Good. As much as I've gotten to know him, he seems really genuine." I replied, getting off my bed. I looked over at the clock and saw the time was one in the afternoon. I had done absolutely nothing with my day aside from attend English class.

I decided that it'd be best to spend some time getting to know my way around the campus better. I grabbed my bag and headed out.

As I took in the sights and was utterly in love with this campus. It had it's quiet parts and also had it's loud parts. They had a coffee shop every two buildings and two libraries. I glanced over and saw the bookstore, noticing that surprisingly it wasn't that crowded. I made my way over to the library, taking in the thousands and thousands of books.

I sauntered up the stairs, making my way over to the romance novels section. What can I say, I'm a sucker for love. I grabbed a book and my eyes scanned the pages. I started from page one and somehow made it all the way to page 15.

"Intriguing book?" Someone asked. I glanced up and saw Rylan, he was leaning against the bookshelf, smiling over at me.

"Y-yeah. How long have you been standing there?" I asked, shutting the book and looking down, then back up at him.

"Well I noticed you five minutes ago and was standing next you for 30 seconds." He responded, swiping his finger across the random books. His aroma filled my nose and I tried hard not to take notice.

"Awfully creeping, don't you think?" I replied, glancing up at him.

"I prefer to call myself an observationionalist; I see things. Like the way you read and purse your lips, or the way you are talking about something you're passionate about." He answered, looking at me.

I looked up at him and our eyes locked. I instantly gazed down and fidgeting with my fingers. I was a nervous wreck.

"And like the way when you're nervous, you break eye contact." He said, he lifted my chin and our eyes met. In a moment, our worlds connected and then we were interrupted.

"Ry Ry!" A high pitched voice rang. I glanced over at saw a brunette haired girl. She was wearing a short yellow dress and black heels. Her appearance made me feel like a sack of potatoes compared to hers.

"Lei, nice to see you!" He said, embracing her in a hug. In a second, their lips collided and my heart sunk. Any possibility of something developing was gone. As the embraced each other, I slipped away, setting the book I started back on the shelf.
