Have you ever had a day when you feel so unsatisfied with your life that you wonder what you can do to fill in th void which slowly consumes you.

"You've cracked it Niall! I can't believe it!"

Niall almost jumped off of his seat, his hand grasping at his chest because he thought he was about to have a heart attack.

He was in the middle of questioning his very existence and here Lewis was, popping out of nowhere and scaring the shit out of him.

Behind him was Lewis, his coworker and project team member, staring at his computer screen with wide eyes and disbelief.

"Huh, I wasn't even trying." Niall mumbled before letting out a yawn, he was feeling rather sleepy already and it's only noon.

"You humble little shit! Oh my god!" Lewis started hyperventelating and Niall felt a little concern.

"What's going on?" his confused coworker Michael asked as he lifted his headphones to check what the sudden commotion was all about.

"Niall got passed the firewall, he's inside their server." Lewis explained in excitement.

"Wow Niall, great job dude." Michael gave him a thumbs up and went back to his computer.

Niall shrugged and went to look at the time to check if he can head home already. He let out a sigh of exasperation when he noticed that it was still 2 hours before he can clock out.

He lifted his gaze back at Lewis who looked to be having an internal struggle of keeping his chill.

"Now what am I supposed to do again? I'm feeling kind of hungry so I lost track." Niall told him, his voice laced with boredom.

"We're supposed to test if the new security software that they're bragging about can prevent malicious hackers from getting inside their server." Lewis explained to him.

It still doesn't ring any bell to Niall. "Did we win something?" Niall asked confusedly because he honestly dozed off when he was at the meeting.

Lewis suddenly looked triumphant. "Hell yeah we won, we're gonna slap them with this and show them that their software sucks."

"Huh, I really thought we're about to get some nasty info or something." Niall mulled for a minute on what the hell was he going to do next. "Is that all?" he questioned unsurely.

"Niall, you don't understand how huge this is for us." Lewis told him as if offended by Niall's lack of excitement.

They were talking big raise or even a promotion because their bosses have invested a lot of money to make sure that their products are on top of the market and a client changing their mind and using an overly priced competitor over them made them want to shed blood.

The IT Security industry isn't playing any games, the competition is real.

But for Niall, it just doesn't feel right.

"Alright man, well, I'm going to head out now." Niall said to him, he was itching to get out of his formal attire. He wanted to go home and wear his sweatpants and pig out on whatever was inside his fridge.

"We need to document and recreate the steps you did so we can present this to the management tomorrow." Lewis explained, his voice going from excited to panicked.
