Y/N POV
Silva and I are in Forever Falls forest, in the midst of gathering tree sap. Glynda came with us to make sure we were safe.
Glynda: You two need to gather six jars worth according to Professor Peach.
Silva: We'll get it done, ma'am.
I grabbed the jar carrier provided, and we went to a few trees, gathering from each one. Along the way, I found a few corpses from a few students that went too far.
Y/N: No point grieving for them now.
Out of respect however, I still closed the eyes I found open. I heard footsteps behind me, and I recognized them as Silva's steps.
Silva: They ventured too far, I bet.
Y/N: Indeed. Come on, if we have enough, this place is depressing the hell out of me.
As we walked away, I felt a breeze coming from my left. I don't know why, but I felt like it was calling to me.
Y/N: Silva?
Silva: Yeah?
Y/N: Take my jars to Glynda. I need to take a walk.
Silva: Is everything okay?
I started to walk through the forest, trying to find the source. I walked wherever the wind lead me. Eventually, I came across a clearing in the woods. Soon after, Silva joined me.
Silva: Man, you sure can... cover...
We looked up ahead, and we see what appears to be an old battlefield. Cannons lined across the field in formation, as if they were ready to fire.
Silva: Ground...
I walked up to a cannon, and I ran my fingers over the cold metal. I could almost hear the screams of battle cries, and wounded soldiers. When I looked forward, I saw outlines of soldiers fighting and dying. I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I saw Silva.
Silva: You okay, hun?
Y/N: I could see the battle taking place here... before the civil war...
I took my mask off the side of my face, and I strapped it to my belt.
TW: You feel the energy of the battle. I feel it as well, and the air feels thick.
Y/N: Agreed. I feel it too.
I walked to the other side of the open ground, and I stopped in the middle. The air felt the thickest here.
Y/N: This was No Man's Land.
Silva: No Man's Land?
Y/N: No man survived if they came here. That's why it's called that.
TW: I can feel the fear they experienced. It is almost too much to handle.
Y/N: Well, war does that to you, especially if you don't know what you're fighting for. This school teaches you something about that: when you fight, you're no longer fighting for the glory of your country...
I knelt on the ground, and ran my hand across the grass, as if I was paying my respects to the dead.
Y/N: You're fighting for the man or woman next to you. You put your life in their hands, and their life in yours.
???: Well said.
I turned around, and I saw Ozpin with Professor Port and Doctor Oobleck.
Oobleck: I never knew this place was here, and I am a history teacher.
Port: It's incredible, I don't think anyone knew this was here.
Y/N: I think I know why...
I looked up and saw a few Grimm tracks, and I stood up.
Y/N: From the feeling that I'm getting, the negativity in the air was present during the war...
I walked to the other side, and I looked at another cannon.
Y/N: Add that to Grimm invasion... what do you get?
Silva: A blood bath...
Ozpin: Nobody would've survived to tell of it.
Y/N: Exactly...
I heard a howl in the distance, and I strapped my mask to my head.
Y/N: We best be moving. I don't wanna be around when the air is at its thickest here.
I walked back the way we came, and I felt a hand on my shoulder.
Oobleck: How were you able to find this place?
I tried to think of a way to explain, but I couldn't.
Y/N: Call it a gut feeling, sir.
I kept walking until I was out of their line of sight, leaving Silva and I. When I was sure that the teachers were out of sight, I collapsed onto my knees behind a tree, breathing heavily. My head was pounding, and it wasn't letting up.
Silva: Are you okay?
Y/N: I will be... the amount of fear that I felt... I had to get away from it no matter what...
I couldn't feel it, but my neck and chin were dripping with sweat. I managed to regain my composure, and I stood up. As I took a step, my knees gave out, and I collapsed. Luckily, Silva caught me, and leaned me onto her shoulder. We walked back to the transport, jars in hand, and flew back to Beacon. When we got back, I had feeling in my legs again, and we walked to Professor Peach's classroom. We knocked, and the door opened.
Peach: Oh, thank you two for this.
Y/N: No problem, we were just glad to be of service.
When we handed the jars over, the Professor gave one jar back.
Peach: Keep this one as a thank you. I hear it's a great thing to add to tea or pancakes.
Silva: Thank you, Professor.
The door closed, and we went back to our dorm room. I placed the jar of sap on a desk, and I sat on the bed.
Silva: You gonna tell me how you found that battlefield?
Y/N: I don't really know myself. I just felt like a whisper in my ear, and it felt like it was beckoning me. That's how I found it.
Silva: Uh huh... well, I think you need to lay off from using the mask for a bit.
TW: I can hear you, lizard.
Y/N: Watcher... she might be onto something. Just for a few days, okay?
TW: Fine, three days tops.
Y/N: Done.
