Side note: this story is inspired by book such as 'A Court Of Thorns and Roses', Throne of Glass. I've been very inspired by Sarah J. Maas and I love all her novels ❤️

——————-

The glass shatters in my hand, leaving marks and cuts and blood there, smearing across the clear surface. I throw the shards down with a grunt. It's my eighth month here in these woods and I'm already shattering the weapons I need to protect myself from the crazy people who raid the place. I crawl back into my simple, black cave and sit at the entrance. Eight months and I still don't remember.

I remember falling. The tree branches cutting my skin. I remember my name. Maeve. Or at least that is what my mind told me. I could've named myself.

My first month in the woods when I tried to get out, a hunter shot me down. I healed quickly.

I'm stronger than I look, faster, smarter. I adapted here.

Only because I had to.

The Ashes, as I like to call them, come around every week. They try very hard to maybe kill me, but they never do. I kill a few of them and the others run.
