"The town is lively, tonight. Huh?" Gilbert looked at me, with a smile of his own.

"Of course, it's thanksgiving. It's a celebration for surviving the war, long enough to celebrate a holiday once again." I nod, and look behind me. And see Violet slowly following, almost looking like a lost puppy.

Then, she suddenly stopped. I stopped walking beside my cousin, and stared at the girl my age. "Violet!" I yelled, she looked up at the sound of her name.

I jogged to her side, "Hey, what you looking at? We should go, Gilbert is waiting for us." I grabbed her hand, it fit perfect in mine.

It was warm and soft, she looked at me. "You're eyes." My brows furrowed. "Huh? What about my eyes?" Violet then looked back down at the same object.

"The brooch, the emerald brooch reminds me of your eyes." I was slightly flattered, I can't believe she can look at an emerald object and think of my eyes.

I looked at the brooches on display, and saw one that looked like her eyes. "Well, there's that nice glass like blue brooch that looks like your eyes." No affect, she still kept staring at that one.

"It makes me feel something, what's it called?" She turned to once again to look at me, I understood what she was talking about, well I think did.

We continued walking, "You sure you didn't want the one that looked like you're eyes?" I asked once again, she shook her head.

We stood by a river, I sticked my hand out. "The brooch?" I asked, she answered with a small "yes captain" once she placed the object in my hand.

I walked up to her, placing the brooch in between the collar of her uniform. Once I was done, I made some distance between us but not too far.

She looked at it, and then looked back up. At me, having those ocean like blue eyes stare into my emerald city ones.

"Thank you, thank you so much Captain."

We stood face to face, before I ran up and engulfed the girl that I thought I lost into a hug. "God, I thought I lost you." I whispered, only making Violet hear.

I pulled back with a smile, the girl stood still but had little tears in her eyes, making them look more glassy than before.

"Come on, let's get in this car." Hodgins nodded, opening the door for us. The car ride was kinda long but not really, Hodgins was having a conversation with Violet about three different plushies.

I just watched the cuteness in front of me, "Why did you chose the dog?" Violet stopped rubbing her cheek against the dog, she looked at me and answered.

"Well, Captain's cousin once said. "You're just like (Y/N)'s dog" is what I remembered." My brows frowned, "We don't talk about Dietfried."

The conversation dropped, the rest of the ride was just silence, besides hearing us breath and the Engine make noise as it works.

The car stopped, pulling me out of my daydream. We stopped in front of a big mansion, 'Ah, haven't seen this place in awhile.' We walked out having Hodgins ring the bell once we got though the gates.

"This is where Violet is staying?" I whispered to Hodgins, he nodded his head. The door opened, having an old woman walk out in such a nice dress.

"This is Mrs. Evergarden, she'll be your new foster family." Ah, I haven't seen her in so long, after I got recruited to the military to help my cousins in war.

"Ah, dear (Y/N). I haven't seen you in awhile, you've grown quite charming and pretty." I chuckled lightly, as she engulfed me into a hug. Of course, I hugged back.

"Hey Auntie Tiffany, it's good to see you again. Still pretty as ever," She giggled, "And this is Violet?" I nod at her question. Violet than salutes, "Yes, ma'am." I start to nervously sweat. "You could of just done a polite bow."

Auntie invited us in, her house was nice and fancy, just as I remembered. She sat us down for a cup of tea, I'm lucky I lost my left arm and not right, cause damn I'd be screwed.

As I picked up to sip my tea, Violet tried to do the same but since she isn't used to her new arms. She dropped the cup, breaking it along with spilling the liquid all over the table cloth.

"Oh dear!" "Violet!" I got up from seat as well. I raced to her side, grabbing her arm. "Are you alright?! You didn't hurt yourself did you?" She nod her head, while Auntie Tiffany wiped the tea off.

After that was cleaned up, she pulled us into a separate room. She pulled out a pair of brown gloves and handed them to Violet, "What about you (Y/N)?" I shake my head at Auntie's question.

We had a few more conversations, before me and Hodgins packed our stuff out and headed out. "You think she'll be okay?" I asked, Hodgins let out a sigh.

"I hope so." I just go along with his answer, just as I was about to open the gate. The door to the mansion was forced open, and Violet's body was seen running down the stairs.

"Captain! Why are you leaving me here? Is it because I'm not in the condition to serve you?! If I train hard than I can go back to being your tool!"

I couldn't take it, I hated that she sill sees herself as a damn tool! I forced my suitcase in Hodgins arms. And walked towards the girl, standing face to face with her.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out. "How many times am I going to tell you? I don't see you as a weapon and I'm not leaving you." I grabbed Violet's hand, placing the object she holds dearly.

She looked disbelief, and looked up at me. Almost like she didn't think this was real, this whole moment makes me remember when I first gave the brooch to her.

"Thank you, thank you again Captain."
