Falling Slowly

Chapter 7

It was one in the morning, when the Coterie group walked through the door. Alice grabs a bowl from the kitchen cabinet, pouring herself some cereal, and sitting down at the table, stuffing her face.

"That was amazing." Malika said.

"My feet are going to be so sore tomorrow." Davia wined.

"I'm exhausted and going to bed." Mariana sighed, walking to her loft.

Issac grabbed Malika's hand, leading her to her loft. The two of them heading off to bed as well. That left Alice and Davia alone in the kitchen.

"Where's Dennis?" Alice asks.

"Probably in his room." Davia says, starting to yawn.

"Have you guys talked?" Alice proceeds.

"It's kind of hard to have a conversation with music blaring in your ears." Davia laughed.

"True. Although, I saw you two getting hot and heavy on that dance floor." Alice smiles slyly.

"I'm going to bed. Goodnight Alice." Davia, shakes her head, smiling.

Alice goes back to eating her bowl of cereal as Davia walks into her loft. Davia shuts her door and flops on her bed, exhausted.

Davia sits up and walks over to her dresser. She grabs a pair of pajamas, a soft pink set, and her robe. She walks out of her room and into the communal bathroom, turning on the shower.

After her hot shower, Davia changes into her clean pajamas and proceeds to wiping off the makeup that is running down her face. Davia is brushing her teeth with one hand, as she runs her other hand through her wet hair. She looks at herself in the mirror, tooth paste around the corners of her mouth. Taking the tooth brush out of her mouth, she giggles to herself at her current appearance. She proceeds to spitting out the tooth paste and rinsing off the corners of her mouth. Davia walks back to her loft and shuts the door.

Meanwhile in Dennis' loft, he changes into his pajamas, wearing a dark blue shirt with sweatpants and a gray hoodie. He looks at himself in the mirror and fixes his hair. Dennis isn't tired, he can't sleep. He knows he has to talk to Davia, he has to tell her how he feels.

Dennis puts on his slippers and walks out of his loft. He quietly makes his way to Davia's loft. Standing outside her door, he takes a breath. His heart is pounding. He's ready. This is it.
