Chapter 12 A Phantump Story

Route 20, also known as the Winding Woods. Located inside of a dense forest, twisting and turning to avoid trees. Many paths inside the forest lead to unexpected directions and dead ends, some even leading to different places depending on the directions taken.

Samuel was a young boy from Snowbelle City, also known as the city of everlasting winter. Light brown hair and brown eyes, and wearing a blue sweater with dark blue one underneath.

He loved to visit the woods because the Pokemon is so friendly towards him.

Every day he went out into the woods, exploring deeper and discovering new paths on the way, but never got lost because of his wild friends.

"C'mon Gothorita! Ha, ha! You can't catch me!" Samuel laughed as one of the wild Pokemon chased after.

Other Pokemon like Jigglypuff and an Eevee was playing along too.

Before they knew it, Sammy lead them out into the Pokemon Village. "Woah!!" He said in awe as he looked around.

The Pokemon Village is an open area with a waterfall straight ahead and a nearby cave.

As Samuel and his Pokemon friends ran ahead to explore their new territory, many Pokemon from curious Ditto to a Zoroark peaked from their hiding spots to see their curious new visitor.

"Ha, ha! HI!!!" Sammy waved from where he stood, prompting some of the other wild Pokemon to come out and greet him.

"Oh, cool! A Ditto!" He crouched down face to face, the Ditto instantly transformed into Sammy, which made him more excited.

Meanwhile in the shadows of the Winding Woods, watched a lurking Trevenant. He appeared a little shy, watching Samuel from where he stayed.

Samuel's wrist started beeping before he jerked his sleeve aside revealing some kind of watch. "Uh, oh! It's starting to get late. Sorry guys, I gotta go home."

Some of the Pokemon seemed sad to see him go already, but others accepted it.

So Sammy took his memorized path back to Snowbelle City, but little does he know, the Trevenant from before was determined to meet face to face.

"Okay, this way, then right..." He mumbled to himself as he ran. But he started to slow down to check his surroundings, "This tree was not there before..."

Samuel started thinking hard as he scanned his surroundings, "That bush was definately not there either... What's going on?"

Trevenant, this Pokemon can control trees at will. It will trap people who harm the forest, so they can never leave.

One of its known moves is Forest Curse, a move that adds Grass type to its target.

As Sammy started to panic, Trevenant decided to make his move and show himself. Walking into view where Sammy instantly mistook him as a threat.

Without thinking, Samuel started to run, deeper into the woods, witnessing the trees and bushes come to life as if trying to block him in.

"NO! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!?!" He shouted into the nothing as he found himself starting to get boxed in.

Before he knew it, a thick root curved out of the ground, causing him to trip, last thing he saw was falling towards a stump in the ground, SNAP! Then darkness....
