Chapter 13: Tommy and Samuel

(A/N): [The front cover is simply an idea to see what Tommy and Samuel look like is all!]

As Samuel lead the way through Winding Woods with Tommy, he was hooked in sharing his somewhat of a life story.

"And phan, there I was, trying to outrun the tump and bushes! But they were closing in on me! Before tump knew it, I tripped over a root!....." Samuel stopped to look at his hands, "And then I became a Phantump..."

Tommy and Cinder shared glances at each other before Tommy approached him, "Sammy, I know it's hard to share that kind of story."

Sammy spun around, "Hey, phan's fine! Lets go phan that Gym Leader and tri-tump!"

"Tommy laughed, "Okay, I can tell that was intentional!"

Sammy smiled before carrying on.

"Say, Sammy!"

"Yeah?"

"How hard is it to speak fluent language again?"

"Samuel looked off into space while still moving, "Hmm... Well, I guess I barely notice. I think it's subconsciously I tump?"

Tommy chuckled, "Well you almost said it perfectly..."

"Heh, I had months of schooling with my dad. He phan to write what I want to say and practice saying it."

"I see... I'm sure you'll eventually get it! Maybe you can help me talk to other Pokemon while you're at it?"

Sammy spun around to face Tommy while floating backwards, "Wait, you mean like your translator?"

"Yeah, it'll be fun!"

Sammy smiled, "Yeah, that sounds cool!" As he turned around, he saw light coming into view. "Welcome to Phantump village!..... Wait, typo, TYPO!"

"Tommy started cracking up, "That couldn't have been coincidence!"

"Yeah, okay... Perhaps phan will one day teach you the language of my people!"

"That sounds like a challenge! Tommy chuckled.

Samuel turned around to see a man standing out in the open as many Pokemon happily surrounded him.

He instantly recognized some of his friends, [Gothorita! Zoroark! Trevenant!]

[Samuel?] Trevenant replied.

[SAMMY!!!] Jigglypuff barged past everyone and managed to tackle Sammy out of the air.

"HEY! Careful!"

Jigglypuff blinked confusingly while looking down in Sammy's eyes, [Did you just speak human?]

She let him up as Samuel scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, [Yeah... Dad helped me somewhat talk again.

Eevee was next to tackle him, [We missed you so much!]

[You know, Trevenant wasn't such a bad guy once you get to know him!] Zoroark added.

Zoroark paused to look over at the Ninetales, [And who might you be?] Reaching out to kiss her paw.

Cinder chuckled while acting flirty and pulling her paw away, [Oh, hoho... Well aren't you the seductive one?]

As Sammy was busy laughing and catching up with his friends, Tommy approached the man tending the other Pokemon.

He appeared in his twenties, his hair blue and tamed back and he wore a fancy suit with some purple trim down the middle with a open collar. As he turned around, Tommy saw that he had grey looking eyes.

"Oh, hello there! I wasn't sure I heard you coming."

"Hi, I am here to battle the Gym Leader of Snowbelle City Gym?" Tommy replied.

"Oh, have you now?" The gentleman turned to face him completely, "Well fortunate for you, you found him!"

"Tommy blinked, "WAIT, YOU?!" He jumped back.

The man smiled while brushing back some hair with his hand, "You can call me Gym Leader Viktor."

Samuel and Cinder returned to join sides with Tommy.

"Hi Viktor! Tump gonna fight Tommy?" Samuel waved.

Viktor was taken aback, "That Phantump spoke, and it knows me?"

"Oh, yeah... I'm Samuel Rawst, remember?"

"Oh, dear... Samuel my boy! What ever happened to you? I thought you went off and started your own adventure!"

Sammy sighed as he didn't seem too happy to share his story, "It was an accident months ago..."

"My, I am so sorry to hear that! And this is Tommy?"

"Yep, Tommy Shant! I am here to win my Iceberg Badge!"

"I see! And Samuel here..."

"Lets say I'm his traveling companion! Made a promise with his dad to see the world of Pokemon!"

"I see!" Viktor turned to Samuel, "I wish you good luck on your new adventure then my boy!"

"Heh, thank you..." Samuel almost appeared to be blushing.

So Tommy, Samuel and Cinder followed Viktor out of Pokemon Village and through Winding Woods to make it to Snowbelle City Gym.

[BYE GUYS! TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER WHILE I'M GONE! OKAY?!] Samuel called out as he waved goodbye to his friends one more time.

He received byes and farewells back from all his friends and others around Pokemon Village as they vanished by the trees.
