the minute they arrived back in court, park was back, with his glowering eyes and mouth drawn into a sharp line. it almost made mark forget that they had kissed only minutes prior, it was confusing.

park was confusing. how one second, he could be this poor, vulnerable guy in love with a villain and the next, a villain himself.

hell, even mark saw him as a villain now that he was walking past the rows of the audience with his shoulders pushed back in that way.. as if he carried no fear at all- only anger.

mark didn't like it much.

still, as he met eyes with bambam, he took some comfort in the fact that he could nod encouragingly, telling the younger that somehow he had got through to park.

it was nice to see the relief flood onto bambam's face.

he hadn't seen that expression for a while, not once had bambam looked free from trouble during the week they had waited for the trial.

mark hurridly rushed to his seat as park took to the stand once again, and he couldn't help but wonder if he could really trust park.

it didn't make sense, how one kiss could sort everything out. when youngjae had first cheated on mark, he had tried to find a rebound, going on too many hookups and flings to count. it hadn't worked, he only thought of youngjae.

so why would it work for park?
why would one kiss from mark mean he could forget all about jaebeom?

the guy was obssesed with jaebeom, and obssesed was putting it lightly.

mark assumed there were some deep seated issues locked away inside park. perhaps he felt betrayed by jaebeom for breaking up with him and that manifested into obsession. perhaps he just liked loving someone, and now that mark was there he wouldn't have to worry anymore.

or perhaps, he was just really really weird.

it was hard to tell, but either way, mark was glad it had done something. even if he had to play with his own feelings and allow park to manipulate him and kiss him, he was just glad that yugyeom had a chance of being saved.

but he couldn't help but remain curious, and more than slightly worried as the lawyer began to speak again.

"so, mr park, as you were saying... mark tuan was lying?"

park's eyes flicked from jaebeom to mark, jaebeom to mark,

jaebeom
to
mark.

mark could see the confusion in his eyes, the fear, the desperation to do the right thing. it was masked well, but mark was too close to park now, and could pick up on the slightest change of emotion.

finally.

he spoke, and finally mark thought.

"jaebeom was doing a lot more than just taunting him."

and everything just fit into place.

his interrogation continued and everything went well, he made it look like jaebeom had brought the bullet wound onto himself, by blackmailing yugyeom and a ton of other things that park was lying about.

once the man had lied the first time, he seemed to get into the swing of things and when mark looked over to where jaebeom sat, he smirked in satisfaction. jaebeom knew he had lost.

park was sent back down, and jackson was called to the stand.

"what did you do?!" bambam asked, in a shocked manner to say the least.

"kissed him."

bambam couldn't believe it.

"you what???!" he whispered.
