hehe i have just come up with THE best markjin moment to happen next chapter- y'all are gonna die...

yugyeom was sobbing into his palms, the minute he had noticed his small group of friends striding through the corridor towards him, he had broken down.

the thought that he would never be happy with them again, even if they had never really been happy was enough to make his heart race and tears to drip from his eyes. it was moreso bambam's expression, the dull lack of sparkle in his eyes, the way his lips hung lifelessly and his whole face was lined with crinkles, that pushed yugyeom over the edge.

his best friend, completely broken, because of him, because he had decided to pick up that stupid, stupid gun and let his emotions get the better of him. why did he have to shoot jaebeom?! why did he have to mess his whole life up with one single spurt of anger?

of course, if he asked his friends, they'd say he did the right thing and that jaebeom deserved it, but he knew deep down that if he was given the option to, he would take it all back.

the silence in the prison was deafening, he couldn't even talk to himself.

so there they all stood in front of him, whilst he sobbed his eyes out. he didn't even care that park was there when all this was park's fault, because he was the only one to blame, he was the one who shot the gun, park just did the right thing. as evil as the right thing was.

mark was the only one of them who seemed normal. park was staring at his shoes, properly guilty. he had lost all of his stoic attitude and harsh anger that yugyeom was used to, in fact, in that state of guilt, he looked a little like jinyoung.

jackson looked angrier than yugyeom had ever seen him, even if bambam had a hand rested gently on his shoulder. bambam would usually calm him down. each breath he took shook, like he was barely stomaching the urge to prise the bars of the cell apart and save his friend. yugyeom could only assume that he was frustrated by the fact that there was nothing he could do.

and of course, there was bambam, who wasn't crying but looked like he would've if he hadn't have already become so numb and empty without yugyeom. mark had an arm wrapped around his shoulder, pulling the smaller boy closer to his chest and rubbing his palm across his back gently.

yes, mark was the only one who looked the same. but maybe that was because yugyeom didn't know mark that well.

either way, it was mark who spoke first, "hey gyeom, how you doing? okay?"

yugyeom shook his head, too tired to sign, too tired to even communicate.

mark raised an eyebrow at park, looking like he was spurring the guy to say something but park just stayed silent, not looking up from his shoes.

eventually, mark spoke again, "park here would like to apologize," and park nodded along, "go on," mark then whispered to the man.

park took a deep breath, "gyeom... there's no excuse for what i did..i-i.. you know i love jaebeom right and i guess i just got so mad that yo-... look i'm sorry, okay? and i'm on your side, we're getting you out of here,"

yugyeom responded in sign language, simple head movements couldn't convey what he was trying to say. his hands moved for a long time, everyone, even those who couldn't speak sign language, were staring intently at them until he finished.

mark and bambam looked worried.

"translate?" jackson asked, his voice wavering on a sort of growl, like he was trying to suppress his innate anger.

"mark, do you want to do it?" bambam asked, and mark nodded, bambam was much too weak, from his knife injury and from his fears about yugyeom, to say all that yugyeom had said.
