👮‍♂️ Chapter 1 👮‍♂️

You are sat on the couch in your lovely home in Green Hills. Anticipating the arrival of your dad, Tom, from his days work being the Green Hills sheriff because your mom, Maddie, says an important letter has arrived for him. Ozzy the dog jumps on the couch next to you, barking at the window as he hears your dad's car arrive. You hear the door unlock and open and your dad walks in, ranting about the racoons (or as he calls them, trash pandas). Ozzy leaps off the couch and greets your dad, and you follow him to also welcome your dad home.

"Hi dad!" you say, hugging him tightly. "Hi Y/N" he says, hugging you back. Your mom appears from the kitchen, holding a small envelope, tapping it in her hands. "Whassat?" Your dad asks her, letting go of you. "Open it!" she says, excited. Your dad takes the envelope from her and examines it. "It's kinda small, is that bad?" he says, worried. "Just open it!" your mom replied, slightly impatient. You watch as your dad opens the little envelope and reads it aloud to the both of you.

"Wow..." he says, stunned.

- little bit of a time skip -

You are all sat down in the kitchen, eating the celebration cake your mom had made. Your dad explains that the letter meant that he has a new job in San Francisco, and that you'd all have to move there.

"We have to leave Green Hills!" you say, shocked, excited, but sad at the same time, as you eat a slice of cake. "Sadly, yes." he says. Green Hills was all you've ever known, it was home, and the thought of leaving your home makes you nervous. "Because, I feel I need a new challenge, something to push myself, in life or death situations. And I achieve that by becoming a street cop in San Francisco." he explained. "...OK..." you finally reply. You were sad to be leaving the only place you've ever known, but deep down you knew it would make your dad happy. You left to go and sit in the living room.

- another tiny time skip -

You sat on the coach with Ozzy, stroking his fur gently, thinking about what your dad had told you. Then you overhear your parents talking. Your mom gets her laptop and shows your dad some apartments she found for rent online. "I thought Ozzy and I could fly there tomorrow and check out some neighbourhoods, and Y/N could stay here with you." she says. Your dad sighs, "this is all happening so fast..." he says, his voice sounding nervous. You continue to listen in to there conversation. "There's been a Wachowski protecting this town for more than 50 years, this is a big change..." you hear your mom say. Your dad confidently replies with "I'm positive!"

This makes you even more nervous. You pat Ozzy on the head one last time to say goodbye and head off to bed, as it was getting a bit late. You walk past your parents in the kitchen. "Goodnight!" you call to them. "Goodnight, Y/N" they reply.

- a few hours later -

You are lying awake. You can't sleep. The thought of leaving your home still haunts you. You switch on your little bedside light and check the time on your phone. It reads 11PM. You sigh and turn over, trying to get some sleep. From nowhere, you hear a small BANG, which quickly turns into a larger BANG! It vibrates your bed. "What the.." you say, and then your little bedside light sparks and switches off. You look outside and see blue electric sparkles all over the dead electricity cables. You think nothing of it and try to go back to sleep.
