The music,
was slowly fading out as the seven exhausted bodies on stage tried their hardest to maintain their ending poses. Each boy was panting unevenly for air as the lights were slowly fading, making their shadows fade away. Anxiety was kicking in already as the boys felt their whole bodies shake, sweat rolling down their temples, necks, everywhere. Not to mention that each of them was overwhelmed.
The cheers were still echoing across the whole stadium and shaking up the hearts of the boys who were drained out from the amount of energy this concert needed. As soon as the darkness surrounded their bodies, Yoongi dropped to his knees, trying his hardest to close his eyes to prevent the threatening tears from rolling down his cheeks.
He was so disappointed in himself. This performance was everything but good and it only added to his self-hatred. His right shoulder hurt which made it hard for him to fully move according to the choreography. His voice was strained because of the stupid choice to drink his dead soul alive the night before. His liver wasn't having any of it either.
Yoongi could make a whole list of reasons why he sucked at doing his best. However, the boy knew he was still on stage so instead of breaking down, he quietly glanced at his band mates, to make sure they were okay without being noticed. Also to keep his mind busy but the boy would never admit that. He observed the way Jungkook was panting so hard as he tried to fan Jimin who looked like he was about to pass out soon.
He also caught a glimpse of Taehyung who was massaging Jimin's legs as he wiped the sweat off of his own temple. Yoongi felt his insides turning at the thought of Jimin pulling another all-nighter which he had been doing lately. His glance continued its way towards Seokjin who was praising everyone despite the tears that were rolling down his cheeks and the way the oldest of the boys passed a water bottle to Namjoon who accepted it wholeheartedly with a face so happy since he probably was very thirsty.
In case it was hard to read the mood, everyone was in their natural habitat. This was how it would usually look after a concert in the band of bts. They truly put their all in it. Yoongi genuinely felt like the band always delivered the maximum of what they could offer. And Yoongi knew for a fact that tonight wasn't any different. Everybody had done their best.
Everyone except for himself.
He wasn't the type to fail at rapping. But this concert was an exception and the said boy needed some comfort from his favorite human. Yoongi looked over at the one he was thinking of, who looked extra pretty and gloomy. Literally. He looked so pretty despite being so exhausted and he also looked extremely sad. Yoongi wasn't having it.
He couldn't bear seeing his usually hopeful friend so down. So he made his way to Hoseok and pulled his arm, making the boy fall forward. "Huh?" Hoseok had yelped out, perplexed by the sudden act of Yoongi. The older of the two had just hung his head low before mumbling a low "Follow me".
And so the two boys went off stage. Yoongi was a true professional. No matter how emotional he got, he wouldn't show it on stage. He wanted to show that side of himself as little as possible. Simply because he wanted work to stay at work and personal matters to stay... personal. For years Yoongi had been convinced by his fellow bandmates to be a little more open with fans to show them that he appreciated them. And he had opened up. Some sides he had never shown were suddenly out there for the fans to enjoy. However, Yoongi's charm was to stay a little mysterious.
Hoseok was exactly everything work wasn't. He filled up that emptiness in Yoongi. That one part of him that no matter how many hours he would sit and produce songs, it wouldn't fill up. Hoseok filled it up. With feelings. Many different ones. Yoongi felt loved, understood, secure, comfortable and just... really really good around him.
Hoseok made it all a little less hell-like. Don't get Yoongi wrong, he loved this work. The privilege to be noticed for something he and his members and crew created. But he also despised it. Just as much as his fame was growing, so was his shadow. It was haunting Yoongi and he felt insecure quite often despite the lack of showing it. So that's why he needed to be alone with Hoseok, exactly after a concert where he felt like he hadn't been able to show everything he wanted to show. He felt like he just kept letting their fans down and that really pained the already exhausted boy.
Confusion and shock were the two things Hoseok could make out of the many feelings he felt at first when he got pulled away just like that. He had been debating whether to be worried or to be prepared to kiss the breath out of Yoongi. The act was very domestic, but Yoongi's eyes were anything but horny when their eyes met. Hoseok who had been on the verge of crying after the concert, felt slightly relieved that his love came and dragged his ass backstage.
The dancer kept looking at the older's back as he felt his fingers get crushed by Yoongi's grasp. Hoseok looked at his lover's hair, which was all grey and wet from the boys sweat. Then his eyes noticed the way Yoongi kept his arm in a weird angle, almost as if his shoulder hurt- wait-just as the boy was realizing why Yoongi's arm was angled like that, Yoongi pushed him inside the toilet he had found and locked the door. Then the older of the two burst into tears. Hoseok watched his boyfriend break down as he himself felt the tears coming. It had been hard to hold it back a few minutes before, but now, it seemed so comforting to cry.
Without any exchange of words, he wrapped his shaky arms around the thinner boy's body.
They remained like that for quite some time. Yoongi's legs decided to get all wobbly so the two crunched down instead, not letting go of each other and still sobbing. Hoseok felt himself getting dizzy from the amount of tears and thoughts he had, so he decided to focus on the way he sobbed every time and tried to match it to Yoongi's slightly more even sobs.It calmed him down, yet hurt him. To know that Yoongi was upset made him sad. The pain was radiating out of his boyfriend's body and it made Hoseok just want to kiss all those thoughts that Yoongi currently had away. "I'm sorry, b-baby" Yoongi muttered after his sobs had quietened down. Hoseok pulled away from the hug as his hand moved up to Yoongi's chin, sliding his fingers against the soft but wet cheek, angling the chin up slightly to make the boy look into his eyes. "Don't apologize."
Hoseok knew that there wasn't any idea to ask Yoongi about it. He knew the boy too well. Instead, he leaned in and placed a small peck on the older boy's lips. Yoongi's eyes fluttered closed as he felt himself calming down by the subtle peck. This was their way of communicating at times where speaking wasn't up to any help. A small peck meant 'I'm here for you'. And that's exactly what Yoongi needed. The reassurance that he could make mistakes. That he wasn't perfect. That he was still the boy who could deliver a lot. When Hoseok pushed Yoongi's bangs out of the way, Yoongi opened his eyes again, meeting Hoseok's calm and understanding brown orbs. They filled his body with a warmth, making his own eyes sparkle in the dim lights of the toilet. Hoseok gave him a small smile. Yoongi glanced down at the younger's lips and gave him a peck on the lips in return. To reassure his boyfriend the same thing. That he was there for him too. Yoongi knew that the brown haired boy was dissatisfied with his performance too. The pretty smile on Hoseok's lips widened as Yoongi's lips curved upwards too, showing a little of his gums. The two looked at each other, smiling softly, with their tears dried upon their cheeks.
