"Hello Nathan." Malakai was shiftily waiting outside Nathan's tent for him to wake up. His catlike grin was present as always. Nathan almost jumped about fifteen feet out of his skin.

"Hi." Shocked, Nathan gave Malakai the dead eye. Malakai looked like he was up to no good, and it put Nathan on edge.

"I have a proposition for you. And it isn't a choice."

"What?"

"I want you to join us. With you on our side, we can overthrow Kharim and return this place as Nikolai would've wanted it. So to prove yourself on our side. You either kill Penny and we feast on her or..." He chuckled maniacally. "we kill everyone in your old camp. Any questions?" He bore his teeth in an evil grin. Nathan's heart jumped into his throat.

"And tell me why I shouldn't kill you right now."

"I want you to help me overthrow Kharim. I want you to join us. But to join, you must eat flesh. It is a sacrifice and one that is worth it to live a true life."

"No! You won't kill Penny!"

"We won't. You will. You have until tomorrow to decide. You sacrifice her or you sacrifice your camp." He sprang up into the trees and disappeared like a ghost. It was early in the morning, maybe it was a hallucination. Malakai couldn't be serious.

Nathan decided he wanted neither. He ran to Brent's tent and opened the flap.

"Brent." Brent grumbled and sat up in his cot.

"What do you want?" He muttered. Nathan hadn't talked to him much since Penny came around. If Nathan was coming to him, he probably needed something.

"We need to go on with the plan. Today."

"Now you wanna do the plan? I've been waiting. The prisoners are all on board. Are we killing everyone?"

"Only Nikolai's men."

"A-alright." Brent was still waking up. "Why now?"

"Malakai gave me a choice... kill and eat Penny, or you, me, Penny, and the home camp dies..."

"Shit..and you're going to risk everything to attack them first? It's risky man."

"Not as risky if we get the prisoners and Kharim."

"What about those at the camp? One of his guys gets a walkie, and they're all dead. Do you even care? You have Penny now you don't need anyone else." He snapped.

"Just because I have Penny doesn't mean Johnny has to die. Danny." Nathan snapped back.

"Mkay whatever. Sure we'll go through with it. Now let me sleep. We strike in the afternoon as the day begins to darken." Brent laid back down and wrapped up in his blanket, signaling he was done with Nathan.

"Fine." Nathan left the tent as quickly as he came, and made his way to Kharim's residence. He climbed the ladder and knocked on the hatch.

"Come in." A metal clink signaled that the hatch was unlocked. Nathan climbed up and in.

"Malakai is psycho." Kharim was drinking from a mug of coffee.

"He has his strange habits yes. Why do you come to my loft so early in the morning?"

"He gave me an ultimatum... said I have until tomorrow to kill and eat Penny..." Nathan caught his breath and continued. "Or the old camp, Penny, Brent, and I, will all die and be eaten."

"Oh no..."

"I need to tell you something which pertains... Brent and I came here with the intention of killing all the cannibals." Nathan was fully prepared for anything Kharim had to throw at him.
