"Here you go Ochako-chan," Tsuyu ribbited as she climbed down from the tree for the umpteenth time and handed Ochako the ball.
Ochako was working on a new technique for her quirk. She was able to make objects go infinitely long distances, but she didn't have a lot of power in her throw. Together, her, Iida, Deku, Tsu, Todoroki, and Momo, or the apparently deemed "Dekusqaud", were working on helping her develop her new skill.
"You're getting really close to getting it right, Ochako!" Momo encouraged her.
"I think you need just a little bit more power," Todoroki stated.
"And hone in on your aim too," Iida chimed.
"What do you think Deku?" She said turning to her boyfriend.
"I think you need to use your quirk at the last possible moment. Hold the ball like this," he grabbed her hand and positioned her fingers so her pinkie was the only finger not touching the ball, "and touch your pinkie just as it leaves your hand. That way you get the most power before you have it go for the distance."
"I think Midoriya is right," Todoroki said thoughtfully.
"Okay! I'll try my best to do that," she said, now reaffirmed by her friends.
She readied herself, lining up her aim, positioning her hand the way Deku told her to, took a deep, and threw.
The ball went much farther, but still not as much power as she wanted. The ball hit the target with a soft bump and fell to the ground.
She hung her head dejectedly.
Izuku could tell she was upset and went to reassure her.
Placing his hand on her shoulder, he said, "That was pretty good! Your aim was on point, you just need more power. I'll help, okay?"
Ochako nodded.
Izuku stood behind her. He grabbed the back of her hand and put it in his own. His larger hand overlapped hers a bit so they both held on to the ball. He put his other hand on her waist to stabilize her posture.
His hand followed hers as she drew back. Izuku decided to use a small percent of One for All in the throw, just to boost her confidence. He knew she was capable, but just getting discouraged due to the failure.
Ochako gave it her all and threw as hard as she could, the combination of that and the, unknown to her, One for All, the ball went flying with lots of power and distance.
Ochako watched it soar, releasing it at the right moment so it didn't lose momentum. She then watched it shatter right through a window of the UA dorms.
The group stood in stunned silence.
"I think you got the power down, Uraraka." Todoroki said unhelpfully.
Momo lightly smacked the back of his head.
"Oh my gosh! What do we do?" Ochako blurted out, panic now filling her voice.
"Hey, it'll be okay, we'll just explain to Aizawa what happened and it'll all be fine," Deku explained calmly to her. He was honestly just as worried as she was, but he didn't want to upset her more.
"Okay, let's go tell him now, you guys don't have to come with us if you don't want to," Ochako told the rest of the group.
The others chose to stay and her and Izuku went to find Aizawa.
They promptly found him and explained what happened.
"Don't worry about cost," he started with, "Things like this were expected to happen, though truthfully we'd thought it'd be Bakugo to ruin a window first, so we have replacement windows that we'll have someone install. I'll just ask you to clean up the glass, deal?"
"Thank you, Mr. Aizawa, we'll clean it up right away." Ochako said gratefully and turned with Izuku to go clean up.
They grabbed brooms and dustpans from a nearby supply closet to help with cleanup.
They picked up the bigger chunks and threw them out, then swept up the smaller ones.
"Ow!" Ochako yelped.
"You okay?" Izuku asked.
"I cut my finger on a stray shard of glass." She held up her finger showing him a small gash.
"I'll get you a bandaid." He sprinted off to get one.
He came back with a pink bandaid and wrapped it around the injured finger.
"Thanks, Deku, it only hurts a little bit now."
"You want me to kiss it to make it feel better?" He taunted.
"Sure," she giggled.
He took her hand and pressed a small kiss on the bandage of her injured finger.
"Better?"
"Much better, thanks." She smiled and chuckled lightly at Deku's goofy reaction.
They finished cleaning up and met up with the rest of the group. They decided to help Ochako with her quirk more, just not near any windows.
