You are the adopted child of Kakashi Hatake. By attending UA you hope to become a great hero like your late father, Obito Uchiha. I know it says male reader but aside from masculine pronouns, it's mostly gender neutral.
As soon as everyone had finished funneling through the finish line, a good chunk of the competition was disqualified and dismissed. There was a brief time period before any announcement was made where everyone else was sizing each other up. Trying to scout out their competition.
Midnight then began by announcing that the next competition will be chosen by a randomizer.
"Now let's see what we have here," she said as she clicked a button, "the calvary battle it is!"
"The way this game works is that in the span of 15 minutes you will form a team that includes a rider and a horse and you'll have to steal headbands from other teams. The combined total amount of points will be on your headband. The person in 1st place is worth the most points meaning that Izuku Midoriya is worth 10,000,000 points."
Immediately after saying that everyone's eyes began to focus on Midoriya. Eyes that showed their intent on taking him down indefinitely. Especially after the fact that he pulled that stunt which placed him a great many positions ahead, I'd say he's earned their jealousy. Funny how quick they were to turn on him.
With everyone focused on the top three, whether it being wanting to join their team or not. It would probably be great to find a team and make a plan with them. After all I did place at number 4 so it should be fairly easy.
Suddenly I was approached by that purple haired guy that paid our class a visit that one day, as well as two of my classmates.

Purple haired guy then began to speak, "Hey, I think the four of us would really make a great team."
My eyebrow then made a twitch in slight annoyance, which he did take notice of.
"A quirk that roots its power in your voice in order to place a victim in a hypnotic trance," I then pointed at the two beside him, "that's how you got those two. What a sneaky one you are."
Upon hearing my words his expression went from boredom to pure shock, "In all my years no one has ever resisted my quirk's effects and so easily as you. How?"
"Let's just say I have experience with mental manipulation. Afterall it is an aspect of my quirk, so a quirk of your level won't work on me."
"But, with you approaching me like this I assume you had a plan in mind."
He then began to explain the plan he had in mind. He wanted me to be one of his horses as the primary defender since he knows how powerful I am in case we were put in a risky situation. He had also planned to use his quirk to have people simple give him their points. It did sound like a sound plan so I agreed to it. He later introduced himself as Hitoshi Shinso and we waited for the match to officially begin.
"Attention everyone, the calvary battle is about to begin! All teams take your positions!" Shouted Midnight.
She waited for a few moments for students to follow her directions so she could then began her countdown.
"In five! Four! Three! Two! One! BEGIN!!"
Every team then began to scramble around trying to look for points to take, trying to weed out the weaker teams first. Our team just kicked things back until one team would eventually approach us. When that happened Shinso completely hypnotized them into willingly handing over their points.
Shinso then began praising himself, "Works like a charm doesn't it, Hatake."
"It is a useful quirk, but we won't be relying on it entirely for this competition," I said as I began weaving the proper hand signs for my jutsu.
Once I was done multiple crow clones poofed into existence. I ordered them to scatter and take the points from weak teams, knowing that my clones would be enough to do that.
Present Mic then began commentating on the sudden appearance of multiple men's which consequently alerted other teams of their presence which would complicate things, but not enough so that they'll still be able to steal points
With Shinso's quirk being used and my crow clones stealing points from weak teams we slowly began to rack up on points. More than enough so that we'll advance to the next round. But not enough so that we'll become targets of other teams as me and Shinso had agreed upon. Admittedly it is a wise idea for us to use.
For the remainder of the time our team was just defending our points. At the same time I noticed that the top 3 from last round, Team Midoriya, Team Todoroki and Team Bakugo weren't doing so hot. Their profile had become so high to the point they'd become everyone else's target completely forgetting that I was 4th, simply because I hadn't done anything attention worthy unlike those three. In fact the only thing that was said about me by the two commentators was just recently by Present Mic. Hell, I haven't even activated sharingan at all today.
As time expired, despite their obstacles the three teams still succeeded. Midnight then began to announce the teams that would advance to the next competition which would be one vs one battles. However, the two teammates that Shinso had collected before coming to me refused to advance on as they felt we did most of the work which left two vacancies that were quickly occupied by 1B students.
Midnight then clicked on the randomizer to determine how the tournament would work, who would be matched with who.
Once the randomizing was over I scanned the screen to see where I would be. I was the first match of the second category of matches. My opponent would be Mina Ashido.
I believe she has the Acid quirk. Although it sounds like a strong quirk she hasn't developed it to the point it would be of any threat. I'll end things quickly for that round.
