I'm sorry

When Brian and Roger arrived at Freddie's, they all gathered in the leaving room.

"Feel like you're at your darlings! Do you want something? Do you want to eat dinner already?"

Roger took a sit on the couch: the black-haired guy's house looked so small it felt comfortable. Not comfortable enough when he caught Freddie's look in his eyes: he was visibly curious about something, but, when Freddie was curious, he was sure he had to be worried.

"Calm down Fred, we got a lot of time. When is the film starting?"

Brian plopped on the couch next to Roger; Freddie sat on the other couch right in front of them.

"There are these science fictions films that are starting between 9-10 pm. I thought Brian would have liked one of those..."

Roger lighted up as Fred said science fictions. He leaned towards Brian and whispered in his ear.

"It would be amazing if we could go watching that new film released in November 2019..."

Brian didn't answer at Roger's statement

"I wish you two could explain to me what you're hiding darlings! Any film you want to see?"

Freddie was really suspicious about the "2015" he had read on Roger's book; in the beginning, he thought he had imagined it, but seeing Roger and Brian obviously hiding something, he absolutely wanted to know what it was. He wondered what explanation they would give him, but he'd rather had asked later than sooner.

"So, what about the food instead?"

Brian asked, as to avoid every other question the black-haired could have demanded.

"We're going out in a few minutes, my dear; I made us a reservation at the restaurant which has just opened at the end of the street"

After what Freddie had said, Roger nodded. Time passed as they were having fun chatting with one another; so, It was not long before they found themselves seated at the table of the restaurant. They were getting on well together, and, at some point between the last course and the dessert, Freddie expressed his question: he leaned forward, placed his elbows on the table and his chin on his hands.

"Well, can I ask a question?"

Roger didn't know why, but he felt some uneasy feeling growing up in his chest. He simply nodded

"Of course Fred"

"I feel like you're hiding something..." "Why would you think that?"

Roger, taken away by anxiousness, interrupted Freddie without thinking; the other one looked at Roger with a frown.

"You forgot your backpack at the shop, didn't you? A book had slipped out of it, so, I took it up to put it back in your backpack, but over it, I read that it was printed in 2015..."

Roger froze: he didn't know what to answer, he was paralysed.

"Oh! So you've seen the book I gave him for his birthday!"

Brian was the only one who could help Roger up then.

"I wanted to prank him and so, I told him I had invented a time-machine and that I had got in the future and bought that book there. He obviously believed me: you can't imagine how much I laughed that time"

Brian faked laughing while giving a good pat on Roger's shoulder, which made the latter get back to reality. Freddie was laughing as well at this point

"Roger, how could you have been so gullible?"

Roger was sweating cold but he was able to calm down

"I still believe you're hiding something, you two look suspicious to me"

That's when Roger lost his self-control and suddenly got up blasting the first thing that came to his mind

"Brian and I just got together yesterday!"

Freddie looked at Roger putting his hands to cover his mouth and sitting down slowly. Brian was looking away to hide his blushing face

"I was kidding about you two hiding a secret, but, good to know darling"

Roger started laughing strangely, Brian joined in

"But, guess what darlings, I knew it from the beginning you were going to get together, or, that you were already a couple!"

"R...r...really?"

Roger asked with a shaky voice. After what had happened, there started to be uneasiness between the two best friends. When they got out of the restaurant, they began to walk towards the cinema

"Oh, darlings, don't be shy, I'm bi myself, don't act so awkwardly!"

Freddie pushed Brian next to Roger: he didn't ask himself too many questions, but he assumed that if they really were a couple they could have acted normally in front of him.

"Well, at this point, let's hang out to a gay pub, it would be no problem to you right?"

Brian took a long breath and put an arm around Roger's shoulders: he had to do it so as not to look suspicious, nothing could take away the fact that he actually wanted to do it from the beginning. The younger's heart skipped a bit: he was sure Brian was doing it simply for what he told at the restaurant. He was waiting for that moment to happen, but really couldn't be sure if Brian was doing it because he wanted to.

"Why not? Let's do it, you want to Rog?"

"I didn't ask if you wanted to Brian, I simply decided it dear. Hurry up!"

When they reached the pub, Brian made it look like he and Roger had gotten separated from Freddie because of the crowd. They went, so Brian loosed his grip on Roger's shoulders.

"I mean, you had to come up with an affordable excuse, you didn't have to lie this far..."

He said stroking his hair with his hands

"I was anxious and I was under pressure... I didn't really know what I had to do... Well, you can always get in and tell him I was kidding"

"We can't Rog... Since he got suspicious because of the book, we should keep this lie go on..."

Actually, Brian wasn't really worried about Freddie being suspicious: he wanted to enjoy that beautiful lie.

Author's note:                                                                                                                                                       It has been a while since the last time I published, and I'm really sorry about that. The reason why I couldn't write was that I wasn't able to come up with anything; fortunately, today I got inspired and I managed to make this chapter. I don't know when I'll be able to make a new one, but I'll do my best darlings believe me! In the end, I simply want to tell you to feel free to comment and tell me what you think about the story. I sure you'll find a few mistakes here and there somewhere; just remember I'm an Italian girl who fights a bit with English!
