I discover a narrow bicycle path and decide to follow it. Up ahead is a sharp curve with bush on either side. Looking passed the thick branches and thorns vaguely reveals a reflective orange and white vest bobbing rapidly up and down. Two early-morning joggers running in perfect sequence were quickly approaching me. They turn the corner before I do which reveals their identities. I move over to the side granting the runners entry to the path I have already covered. One takes a short one-look glance at my face which must be hard to decipher since it’s almost parallel to the ground. The other pretends I don’t exist focusing on nothing but breathing heavily and meeting cardio goals for the day. Embarrassed from the judgmental thoughts probably going through that one person’s mind, I feel my legs go limp. A park bench nearby saves my body from collapsing to the ground. I sit burying my hands in my sleeves and covering my face with my hands.
