3. This is so cliché

"So what now?" I groan, trying to cover my face with my sheets.

"V today is Tuesday, I have really serious classes and I believe you do too," she says, removing the sheets and exposing my eyes to the sun. "Even though I don't know what you do in school apart from getting detention" she says, one brow raised.

Don't let her get to you Velvet.

I just stare at her with a scowl. And it seems it fuels her resolve to try to annoy me.

"Oh Velvet please do
well to stop squinting. It hides the beautiful blue of your eyes. And with the way you're frowning, you're sure to worry about wrinkles by the time you're 25" she says, shaking her finger in my face. "Oh yeah, can I get your lip gloss? The sweet strawberry flavoured one?" She doesn't even give me time to say no before she picks it from my dressing table and starts for the door.
"V your skin looks patchy. Could it be you lack vitamin D? You know  you haven't been under the early morning sun in like forever. We're supposed to be twins V. Don't make people think you're older now okay bubby?" She says in a sweet voice with a sweet smile that I want to remove before strolling out of my room.

So much for ice cream and heart-pouring moments.

I really don't have time so I rush into the shower and out. That's why I can't stay mad at Thalia. She wakes me up, which I'm grateful for. But not her sour-sweet comments. Now what to wear. I'm suddenly in a better mood and pick out white jeans, a really cute peach off shoulder top  and put my hair in a messy ponytail with a matching scrunchie. Yes, I look unusually dressed up for  me but a girl has the right to look good. I don't wear heavy make-up so I'm fine with mascara and lipgloss. Unlike Candice Kipper. Don't worry, you'll meet her soon. She's pretty much hard to miss. Now, sandals or furry shoes?

"Velvet!!" Thalia screams my name down stairs and sandals it is.

"Coming!!" I scream back, quickly gathering my books into my bag. I rush downstairs and see there's no time to make sandwiches. Lunch's on Mason then. I smile inwardly. No one eats my lunch for free. Thalia is already outside and I notice she's not with her keys.
"Your keys?" I half ask, walking towards the car.

"My car broke down yesterday. Lee gave me a ride home. You were too depressed to notice anyway." She says, hopping into the passenger seat.

"Really?" I squeal. "He really likes you Thali. Just accept him already" I say, rolling my eyes and starting the car.

"So when I tell you he handled the towing and everything you'll probably say he wants to marry me." She says, an amused smile on her face.

"The hell, Thalia." I laugh. "Whatever did you use on Lee".

The drive to school was short, considering I was the driver. And I had to bear her constant whining about not getting her killed. Not like she's any better.

I saw Tinsley in gym class and she was looking top notch as usual. But there was something off with her. She was giving me almost monosyllabic answers. When we were walking to lunch, I stalled her at her locker to get her to talk.

" Oh V. It's my dad," she says, looking down. I think I hear her voice quivering. "He has a daughter. Another daughter. In another country. And do you know the worst part? We're the same age! He's had her my whole life. He's been lying to us for 17 years Velvet." She bursts now and her eyes tear up. But none falls.

"Oh my goodness Tins. This is.....shocking". I whisper. "Unbelievable", I gasp, the whole thing downing on me now. Mr Finn had an affair and had another family and now this one is about to be ruined.

" I just can't believe it. I hate him". She spits the words out.

"Let's go for lunch Tinsley. We'll hang out after school, yeah?" I say, pulling  her towards our spot.

We finally spot everyone and take our seats. I called Mason earlier to tell him that he's getting me lunch so I happily accept the peanut butter sandwich he grumpily hands me. I got a can of coke from the vending machine so I think my stomach's going to be pretty happy. We were teasing Mason about this girl that likes him and is always all over him. Although for some reason, she keeps away when he's with  any of us. So you can figure he's always with one or all of us. That's when he can help it.

"It's really hilarious to see the way your facial expression changes man" Lee says in between laughs and we all join in.

"He reminds me of Maxmillian" Tinsley chuckles. Maxmillian is her dog. Don't ask why that's his name.

The whole place was packed today with good vibes when all of a sudden, Tinsley's face pales.

Something over my shoulder obviously has her attention and obviously not in a good way. I look back and whatever it is now has mine. My stomach drops and I wish I hadn't taken such a large bite from my sandwich just now.

A/N: I'm updating like a slug, yes I know but I've been really busy with other things. Well, the holiday has given  me no reason not to write and I hope you all enjoy. It's not edited though so pardon any typos. #stay_safe #stay_home #wash_your_hands_often
