Chapter 5

(Luke's POV)

I've been roaming around the town of Bridgewater for about an hour now.

I didn't want to go back there, where she was, pregnant with his child. Why?! Why Ashton?!

"Luke?" Someone called out.

I turned around and saw Calum running towards me.

"Hi Luke" he smiled.

"What do you want" I plainly said, it didn't even sound like a question.

"What happened to you?" He asked, taken back.

"Emma is pregnant!" I yelled.

"Congrats!" He smiled widely.

"Not with my baby! Ashton is the father!" I yelled.

"What?" He quietly said.

"Why Ashton?" He asked.

"That's what I'm thinking" I sighed.

"Did you tell her about Natalie?" He asked.

"No. But I'm going to" I stammered.

"When?" Calum asked.

"I don't know" I shook my head and sighed.

My phone started buzzing in my jacket pocket.

My hands were already in the pockets so I took my phone out to see Emma calling me.

"She's calling me" I informed Calum.

Calum didn't respond but he sighed.

I didn't look up from my phone. I pressed the red button and the ringing stopped.

"What's going to happen? What about Matthew?" Calum asked.

"I don't know what's going to happen Calum. I just want this over" I sighed sat on the nearest bench.

"Do you still want to be with Emma?" He asked, sitting beside me.

"Yes. But I just don't know what to do" I sighed.

"Talk to her" he shrugged.

"I don't think I can. I don't even know if I could look at her. She cheated on me Calum" I rested my back against the bench.

"But didn't you cheat on her too with Natalie?" He asked.

"Only one time. And that was because she threatened me" I said.

"Wait, threatened you?" He asked.

"She threatened me, saying that if I don't do it, she will take away Matt again for good" I placed my elbows on my knees and rubbed my face with my hands.

"Didn't you say no? There's a thing called the police" he sighed.

"Of course I said no at first. But she told me she had other people to get him. I was just afraid. So I did it" I admitted.

I blamed myself for many nights for what I did. But I realized I did it for my family.

But Emma. I don't think she had a choice. Maybe he forced her.

"Just go to her" he smiled at me.

I nodded my head in agreement.

"Okay. Thanks Calum. Bye" I left after that.

It took me some time to get home because of traffic but I finally made it.

I ran up the stairs, not caring that there was an elevator.

Once I reached my apartment door, I was out of breath.

I fumbled with the keys then opened the door.

"Emma!" I yelled through the apartment. No response.

I ran to Matthew's room, he wasn't in here followed by some clothes.

I ran to my bedroom and thankfully found Emma there. "Emma" I said quietly.

She heard me and spun around.

"Luke?" She seemed scared.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I saw she was in front of luggage.

"I'm packing" she answered.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"To my home" She turned back around and packed some more.

Matt was playing with a couple of his toys on our bed. He seemed happy, but she didn't.

"This is your home" I said.

"I found out about you and Natalie" she stammered.

"How?" I took a step closer to her.

"Ashton told me Luke. He told me. How could you do this to me? To Matt? To us?" She asked.

"She threatened me" I looked down and fidgeted with my hands.

"What?" She asked.

"Why did you cheat on me?" I asked and rose my head.

"He forced me" she sighed and looked back down to Matt. I did too. Once we looked back at each other we were smiling but we both frowned again.

"I love you Emma" I smirked.

"I love you too"
