Chapter 14

"Emma?" he snapped me out of my thoughts. I rose my head up slowly to be stared at by my brother. "What?" I asked quite rudely. "Uh, Luke's here?" It sounded more like a question than statement.

With those words, I shot right up from the hard wooden floor. I took out my other ear bud and raveled it up into a ball, tossing it onto y bed which it bounced off a little.

Kevin nodded to him in the hall and Luke soon entered my new room. "Hey Luke" I smiled brightly. "Hey" he waved a little.

"Kevin, leave" I instructed. "What's up?" I asked and sat on the edge of my bed. "I just wanted to apoligize for earlier" he said. I furrowed my eyes in confusion, not knowing what he meant by 'earlier'. "While I was helping you bring in boxes" he continued. Then I remembered what he meant.

"Its okay" I smiled. "You sure?" he asked, surprised for some reason. "Yeah. So, wanna show me around town?" I suggested.

Luke quickly nodded and shot right up from the bed. I followed Luke down the stairs and we swiftly slipped through the half open door.

"Hey, I need your help with the boxes" my mom instructed, stopping me by gripping onto my wrist. "But Luke is gonna show me around town" I whined. My mom exchanged glances between the both of us and nodded. "Be home by dinner" my mom said and walked away with yet another box.

"Let's go" I walked in front of him and opened the gate. "Who's the tourist here? Me or you?" he smirked. "Me" I playfully rolled my eyes then laughed afterwards.

Luke tugged at my hand and led me to the sidewalk. He let go of my hand then shoved it into his pocket.

"Its okay" I smiled up at him and tugged at his hand. He then took it out of his pocket and entertwined our fingers.

I don't know if my daydream earlier was really going to happen or not, but I would rather wish it would happen. Luke seems nice and if we keep this friendhship up, it could be more than a friendship sooner or later.
