Caitlin entered the mall to visit her boyfriend, Scott.
He was the most amazing boyfriend that Caitlin could ever have or so she thought.

She walked into the milkshake store and found Scott with his arm around another girl and her jaw dropped so she stomped towards their table as the girl left.
What is going on?, Caitlin said.
W-what do you mean?, Scott said.
Ugh, don't play stupid with me, you dirty little no good sneaky cheater! I saw your arm around that girl!, Caitlin said as she gave Scott a stink eye.
No! Cait, you've got it all wrong!, Scott said.
What do mean I got it all wrong?, Caitlin said.
I mean, the girl I had my arm around was my cousin, Olive, Scott said.
Oh. Oh my god, I'm-I'm so sorry, Caitlin said.

Caitlin walked back into the milkshake store while holding a cake on a stick.
She bumped into the girl that Scott said was his cousin.
Hi, you're Olive, right?, I'm Caitlin, but you can call me Cait, Caitlin said.

What have you got there?, Olive said referring to what Caitlin's holding.

Cake-on-a-stick. It's just my way to say "I'm sorry" to Scott because I kind of freaked out earlier. I didn't know that you two were cousins, Caitlin said as Olive looked at her in confusion.

Mm, delicious. You should try some, she said as she took the pitcher out of Scott's hand and poured the milkshake all over him and placed it back down harshly as she stormed out of the store.
Yeah! And don't forget dessert!, Caitlin said as she shoves the cake into his face and went to leave the store.

How could you?, Caitlin interrupts Scott as she faces him full of anger and sadness.

Don't. Just... don't. Ugh!, Caitlin interrupts Scott again as she runs away from him.

Caitlin bursts into the house as Michael looks up from his book to see her tearstained face.
Cait? Caitlin, baby, what's wrong?, Michael said as she bursts into tears.
Daddy!, Caitlin wails as she runs into Michael's arms as he wrapped his arms around her as he stroked her hair.
Hey, hey, sweetie, what happened? What's wrong?, Michael said.
Scott cheated on me!, Caitlin wailed as pure shock grew on Michael's face.
He did not!, Michael said in disbelief.
Yes he did!, Caitlin wailed again.
Tell me how it happened, Michael said.
I walked into the milkshake place where he worked and I found him with his arm around another girl and he told me it was his cousin so I bought him a cake to apologise but I bumped into the girl who I thought was his cousin but she said that she thought we were cousins but I told her that he was my boyfriend and she said that he was her boyfriend and that's basically what happened, Caitlin said as she sniffles.
I'm so sorry baby, I understand how you feel. You're going through your first heartbreak, Michael said.
My first? There's gonna be more?, Caitlin mumbled as she sniffles as Michael strokes her hair.
I've had my heart broken too, Michael said.
By who?, Caitlin said as she sniffles.
By my ex-wife but I moved on and found another lovely woman, Michael said.
Was it mom?, Caitlin said as she sniffles and wipes her tears.
No, it was a friend but we didn't really have a connection but she introduced me to your mom, and the point is, if I didn't have my heart broken, I never would have met your mother, Michael said.
Then I would have never been born and I wouldn't be so sad right now, Caitlin said as she burst into tears again as she leaned into Michael's chest.
No, no, no, sweetie. Oh. It's horrible I know. It stinks. But you know what, baby? It always gets better, Michael said as he gently pushes Caitlin's hair away from her face as she sat up.
Promise?, Caitlin said as Michael gave her a sympathetic smile.
