The thunder roared for my attention as it ripped the sky in half and I lightly closed my laptop, taking a slight break from my paper to sit by the window in the empty apartment. I watched the rain drops race each other down the glass and the lightning lit up the sky. Whilst enjoying the time away from my theology homework I brewed myself a cup of tea, soon hearing the door swing open.
"Peyton?" The familiar voice called out into the darkness of the apartment.
"Kitchen!" I responded, placing the spoon in the sink.
I heard car keys hit the glass dish and shoes flop onto the hard wood floor before my favorite face that I had memorized by now turned the corner.
"Hi mama." Jack smiled before coming up behind me, wrapping his arms around me.
"How was practice baby?" I asked, leaning back into him.
"A lot better knowing I have you to come home to," He said, kissing my temple. "How's your paper?"
"It's in there." I said, looking to Jack's bedroom.
"I figured." He laughed as I turned to face him and he picked me up before sitting me on the counter. "My shoulders are killing me."
"I can help with that." I said as Jack turned his back to me so I could start working out his knots.
After a few seconds I leaned forward and placed a trail of kisses on his neck.
"Can you dig harder on my right shoulder blade?" He asked.
"You wanna go lay down?" I whispered before kissing his neck again.
"I'm okay like this." Jack said. "A little higher."
"I was thinking a little lower." I teased and Jack stepped away from me.
"Ya know what, forget it." He said.
"What?"
"I'm tired and my body hurts." He said, opening the fridge.
"Yeah, I know. I'm offering to help you." I said.
"You're offering a different type of massage." Jack said a little aggressively.
"Well excuse me for wanting to be with my boyfriend when I haven't seen him in a month." I said.
"Well put some ice on it." Jack snapped. "Why's it gotta be about sex all the time?"
"It's not!" I defended, jumping off the counter. "Are you kidding me right now? It's never just been about sex."
"Sure feels like it the last couple times you've been to visit." Jack said.
"Wait let me get this straight, my boyfriend, nay a 19 year old boy, nay any boy is complaining because his girlfriend wants to sleep with him? What kind of backwards worm hole bullshit galaxy did I cross over into?"
