Chapter 2: Out of the hole

                           Lizzie Hearts

Right now, I'm in my room playing with a deck of cards. I have nothing to do so I'm just fooling around since I'm grounded.

Lizzie: Hmmmm... make a castle!

I commanded to the cards, and as a response, the cards formed into a castle. I got pretty bored, so I snapped my fingers and the cards flew back to its original case. I paced back and forth, thinking of something to do. I decided to go to my walk-in closet. I went to my crown's stand.

I saw a deck of red cards near it. I picked them up and sat on my bed. There were writings on them. I never noticed it before.

I recognized mother's writings. Maybe she made these. But what for?

I was engrossed with the cards when I heard a knock on my door. I quickly went to the door, holding the cards, and opened it. I was surprised to see Kitty standing in front of me. She only visits when there's an emergency.

Kitty: Lizzie! We're about to leave Wonderland right now!

She said in a serious tone. I never saw her this serious. But what does she mean? Leave Wonderland? No, it can't be.

Kitty: Lizzie, you need to bring all of your important belongings, and hurry we might disappear any minute!

I got my crown and placed it on my head. I summoned all of my cards and made them smaller, enough to fit in my pocket. I slipped my gloves on and got my bag that's the shape of a heart. I changed my flat shoes into my favorite red heels and faced Kitty.

Lizzie: Now what is this ABOUUUUUT!!!

I couldn't continue my sentence when we suddenly poofed out of my room and we are bumping into plenty of random things.

Everything went black. The last thing I remember was seing a chair heading my way......

After a few minutes

Lizzie: What's....h-happening? I feel so...d-dizzy...

I stumbled and fell down on my knees. I lifted my head up and looked around. Where am I? Where's Kitty?

Lizzie: Kitty!

I saw Kitty unconscious in the grass. I tried to wake her up. After 3 shakes, she finally woke up.

Kitty looked around. She got very teary-eyed. She covered her face with her eyes and started crying.

I never thought that I would ever see Kitty cry like this. I always see her with her signature grin. But now, I can tell that she's really sad. I wonder why.

Lizzie: Kitty, why are you sad?

Kitty faced me and wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

Kitty: We are out of the hole, Lizzie.

Lizzie: N-no. It's impossible. It can't be...

I was at the verge of tears. How will I become queen now?

I walked around and saw a village nearby. I told Kitty about the village and we decided to go there.

Kitty: The Village of Book End.

Lizzie: Where are we?

Kitty: Obviously, the village of Book End.

Lizzie: Oh! So why are we here?

Kitty: Since we are the next generation of fairytales, we are enrolled here to follow our destinies of becoming future villains or future monarchs.

I'm still confused. I admit that I'm slow when it comes to catching up with things. But, why do we need to be here? We can't even go back to Wonderland. I already miss home.

Kitty brought me to a huge building. I saw a logo which looked like a lock and a key.

Lizzie: Ever After High?

Kitty held my hand and smiled with encouragement. I followed her inside the school premises.

The school was filled with students. You can tell which are royals from their clothing. They wear fancy dresses with intricate designs. They have crowns that rest comfortably on their heads, like they were meant for royalty, like me.

You can tell which are villains from their clothing and aura as well. They wear dark clothing and dark make up. Some have crowns but you can still differenciate the two. I'm one of both. I'm a villain and a royal, like my mother.

We went to the Head Master's office. Fortunately, the line was short. We were fifth in line.

When it was our turn,we entered the room and got our room numbers and schedules.

Baba Yaga: Classes start tomorrow at 8 am sharp. Later before dinner, we will have an orientation for the students, so it means that you must attend.

Lizzie: Thank you.

I curtsied and tried to look for my room. As I was walking in the corridor, I was trying to find my MirrorPad. I paused for a bit to be able to find it, then a ball hit my head, tipping over my crown. I fell down on my bottom and dropped my things. In other words, it was a painful crash.

Lizzie: Ouch! Who threw that ball?

I looked around and saw a man approaching. He looks like a royal. The blonde guy faced me and smiled, showing his bright, white teeth.

Blonde guy: Pardon me,.. u-uhm. What-s your name?

Lizzie: That's none of your business.

Blonde guy: Okay Miss "that's-none-of-your-business",I'm Daring, sorry for that little incident but can you please give our ball back.

I looked behind him and saw other guys looking at us. I was enraged with this. I can feel that he is not sincere with his apology and only said sorry because of his ball.

Lizzie: OFF WITH THE HEAD!!!

I shouted and sliced the ball in half with my finger. They all gasped and "Daring" moved back a little.

I waved my fingers and my things went back to my bag then into my hands. I was fuming with anger as I headed to my room
