"JASON" I yell out annoyed at the fact that he just ran off

He was an idiot to go off like that. Didn't he know we had to stick together. He should have been more careful. I look back at Cody with a sad gesture. He sighs, both of us walking out of the room. My eyes catch the pile of boxes that I've been staring at before.

"Your an idiot, you know that right" Cody speaks out of the blue.

I look at him puzzled. He walks up to the large pile of boxes and begins to shuffle around them. I look at him weirdly. I see him pushing down all the boxes, there was a hidden door. My eyes widened as I make my way towards him. Cody grabbed the door handle, slightly pulling on it. It wouldn't budge. I harshly punched the door and it opened with a short snap.

"Weak lock" I spoke looking at Cody

We both walked in the unexpectedly dark room. There was no light whatsoever in the room. As we both walked in, the door closed loudly, making both Cody and I flinch. Running towards the door I jingled the lock. It wouldn't budge at all. Cody ran to my assistance and tried what I couldn't do. He lets out a frustrated sigh as he backs away from the door.

"We are locked inside"

I groaned. Cody brings up his phone and turns it on. The light illuminated only on a small portion of the room, making it still difficult for me to see.

Bang

Grabbing onto Cody I look around, it was so dark I could barely make out anything.

BANG

Another noise but louder, I now grabbed Cody's hand instead of his shirt and we both backed away from the noise. It was silent again and Cody yelled out.

"WHOS THERE"

Silence

We hear a small boys giggle run throughout the room. Well now it's safe to say I was terrified.

"What do you want" I called out to the darkness.

~He he~

I looked at Cody to see him looking back. Moving myself too, I look at him but he seems to be wandering off.

A light illuminated from nowhere right in front of me. I look back hastily to see Cody but I can't see him. Focusing my attention on the light in front I gulp.

A small boy was standing in it, his back faced towards me. Moving me feet one step at a time, hesitantly bringing my hand to touch his shoulder but a small voice cuts off my actions.

~you want answers~

He stated more like a question. I stood there unable to speak.

~but I can offer you only 3 answers~

"What why?" I spoke

~I want you to know~

He lifts up 3 fingers, his hands look bruised and blue and black but he closes on finger.

I realized my mistake. Time to stop being pathetic, if he can give me answers then I can give him questions.

"What are you?"

Please say a fragment of my imagination .... pleeeeeease

~I'm a good boy~

His voice laced with strain. I furrowed my eyebrows, okayyyy, not the answer I was expecting. He only held up one of his small fingers and I knew I was doomed.

"I- umm" I struggled

"What are these voices I've been hearing. A heard a females voice in a hallway then I'm talking to you and we definitely can't forget the the small little girls voice, it was like she was telling me a story, and I have no idea what is going on with me. Just please, tell me what these voices mean" I felt helpless, it could be heard in my voice and choice of words.

~we are the lost souls, the souls that has been trapped inside this building for many years. The women's voice you heard was my mother's, We were trapped inside this hell until our dead bed arrived. But now we both seek to help you~

I stood there dumbfounded.

~my mom took away all the obstacles in your path, mainly your friends.~

I widened my eyes and yelled

"WHAT" The boy wholeheartedly ignores my question and continues.

~we both wish to Rest In Peace, and you are the only one that can do just that~

I stood still listening closely. I still haven't heard about the little girl yet. He turns around and I see his swollen face. A large scar on his cheek gliding down to his neck. His hair cut in a way that falls everywhere except his face. What made me take a step back was not his look but his eyes. He had no eyes, only empty sockets. I held in my breath.

~you promised us and everyone else~

I was beyond confused. I made a promise to him. I don't even know when he was born and died. I wouldn't have been alive back then so why? The boy smiles at me but without eyes he looks horrifying

~don't you remember the promise you made, you said you'll keep it~

My eyes relaxed by instinct. I moved closer and bend down in front of him. I take his hands. Unknowingly I kiss the tips of his bruised knuckles. I don't know what I'm doing, but it felt so natural. It's like as if I'm not myself again. When I walked into this building it was like I'm going in for a purpose. I wasn't myself. When I left the room leaving Lauren I felt as if I seek for something. I wasn't myself again.

When I read the words written on the wall. It felt like I knew them by heart. Was it me? When I ran away from the old man I knew I wasn't myself. It was someone else. When I gathered myself from the floor and made myself struggle. That felt different too. I am switching from being a scary cat to something else. I'm speaking out words I've never even think of saying. I'm making decisions that never even came close to hitting my brain. My body felt like it was making decisions for itself. It has its own mind.

I look at the boys face sadly taking in all of his flaws. I wasn't scared of his eyes anymore. He was just a child, I child I promised to help. (I donno why)

"Don't worry my dear, I'll bring you to safety and I'll bring you peace" there it goes again not myself, yet this time I don't panic and let myself absorb it all. I'm still thinking about the girl and I think he notices.

~oh that, she isn't a voice nor a lost soul. She is you....
Your past life, she was the only one to escape this hell but she wasn't safe, she promised us that she will save us from him and that's what she's doing right now~

I opened my mouth to speak but he brought his frail hand to touch my mouth. Stopping mid way he lets go, moving back slowly disappearing into the engulfing darkness. The lights flickered and the room was lit with light. Standing up I look about trying to find the male I've gotten pretty close to.

Then I realized he must be gone. The words of the small boy sink in. I have to end this and fast
