Phoenix's P.O.V
7 years and I still hadn't seen Evan. I knew I had lost him forever.
It was my 17th birthday yesterday and the only thing on my mind was this was 7 years I had not seen Evan.
Every time I had to blow out the candles on my cake the only wish I wanted was to see Evan but it didn't happen. So I don't believe in miracles now.
I hopped out of my bed and headed over to the dresser, I picked up my clothes that I neatly placed there yesterday night, because it was a Monday morning meaning I was having to go to school. I had a shower and got dressed as simply as I could. Black skinny jeans, black shirt, black vans and black bowler hat. The outfit completed how I felt.
Dark.
I went downstairs and grabbed an open bag of Oreos before slumping down on the couch and flicking through the tv. I had nearly an hour before I had to go to school, so tried my best to waste my time. My parents were never up early, and because of their jobs they never had to be up until 10 in the morning meaning they would never see me go to school.
Sometimes I would just bunk a day with my friend but I haven't done that in ages.
I watched the news while stuffing my face with Oreos not noticing that my German Shepherd Jason came in. He jumped up next to me and put his paws on my lap.
Jason is the only love in my life. We got him for my 13th birthday because you know not all dreams come true but my second dream did. And that's when Jason entered the picture. He's around 6 and a half and all I need in my life.
I checked my phone, and stood up placing the empty wrapper in the bin and saying goodbye to Jason I grabbed my snake skin vans rucksack and headed out the door. I walked over to my black mustang. My birthday present of my family and got in.
I drove towards my favourite coffee shop because Starbucks was too mainstream for me. After grabbing a back coffee I got back in my car and headed towards school.

"Still wearing your necklace Theo?" Klee asked me.
Klee, basically my best friend. Stuck with me throughout all of high school. And she knows everything about Evan and me. She thinks I like him but I couldn't he's my best friend.
"As always." I said flipping my dark brown hair out of my face to show the necklace still intact.
"Do you miss him?' Klee asked. My face dropping at the question.
"More than anything." I replied.
"Do you ever think you'll see him again?" She asked another question.
"I've waited 7 years, I don't know how much longer it will take" I sighed putting my face in my hands.
"Don't worry Theo I'm sure you will see him soon." Klee said leaning over the table and rubbing my back soothingly.
"Thank you." I mumbled into my hands.

The day flew past and soon it was time to go home.
I said goodbye to Klee, as we parted our ways. I hoped back into my mustang and drove out of the school parking lot. I drove home in silence, but it was comfortable silence where I could just remember the times where I used to run home and check on Evan. How I wish I could go back.
I parked in the garage and tossed the keys on the shelf before opening the back door and letting myself in.
"Phoenix!?" My mum yelled probably from the kitchen.
"Yeah!" I shouted back as I dumped my school bag on the floor by the door.
"Could you come here please!" She shouted again. I huffed and walked towards the kitchen. Except she wasn't there.
"Where are you!" I shouted.
"Sitting room!" She yelled back, I walked through the hallway until I got to the sitting room where her and my father sat.
"What's going on?" I asked as I sat down opposite them on the old oak armchair. Their expressions weren't sad so it couldn't have been something bad.
"Michigan has given us a wonderful life and I've loved living here." My mum started but I knotted my eyebrows together in confusion. "But it's time that we head off again don't you agree?" My mum said smiling at me.
"I have no bloody clue what your trying to say." I replied honestly. Leaning back.
"What she's trying to say is that dad got a job promotion and were moving to L.A." My 1 month older sister Rosie said.
"What?" I spat. "I can't move what about Klee what about my school I'm doing exams and!" I said but the words couldn't form.
Evan.
EVAN LIVES IN L.A
I jumped up in shock and in delight.
"I'll do it!" I said, one part of me aching but another part of me thrilled.
"Cry'n out loud." Rosie said as she rolled her eyes at me and flicked her bleach blonde hair out of her face, storming out the room.
"Why don't you go bleach your shitty looking hair again so you can start your moulting season again." I spat at her, her face turning red in anger.
She was about to shout an insult at me until our mother told us that we should go to our rooms and pack. I went through the other door and up the stairs towards my small room.
Hopefully now I can have a bigger room.
I had a look around my room and then memories hit me like a ton of bricks. I fell down to the floor and sighed deeply. I was going to loose all the sleepovers with Klee, all the times we spent together talking our future. And the most I was going to loose my childhood with Evan.
I ran my hands over my face before getting back up. This was a fresh start. The first thing I did was Skype Klee she was going to be the first person to tell.
Skype did it's annoying ringtone as I waited for Klee to pick up.
"Hello my lanky friend." She greeted me as I laughed. "How you doing?" She asked.
"Klee, I'm so sorry." I sighed.
"Woah woah what's wrong?" She asked as I tugged at the roots of my hair.
"I'm moving to L.A." I breathed out her eyes widening.
"Oh my goodness that's amazing, like that's where Evan lives! You can be with Evan!" She exclaimed and I was shocked she was taking it so well.
"I don't have his phone number he never got in touch Klee." I said disappointed. "I don't want to leave you Klee." I whispered tears forming in the corners of my eyes.
"Phoenix I don't want you to cry okay? This is going to be really rough for both of us but we will still be best friends. I will never loose you and I'm not planning to." She smiled and I laughed nodding along.
"I love you so much and I'm going to miss you like mad." I said.
"Same here." She said, "when are you leaving?" She followed.
"Tomorrow morning I won't get to see you." I whined.
"I'll ask my mum if I can come over for a while, help you pack." She smiled.
"I would love that." I said.
"See you in a bit." She said as we hung up.

Me and Klee spent the night mucking around, packing and dancing along to All Time Low. Who are both our favourite band.
She had to go around 11:30 so we hugged it out and took a load of selfies before she left. I was sad but happy at the same time which was good I guess.
So I decided an early night was needed. I walked up to my bedroom had a shower and got into bed, excited about what L.A had in store for us.
