We were basically up at the crack of dawn to load our things into the cab waiting for us. I had decided a band t-shirt for the journey with some black disco pants and vans. We had about a 10 minute delay as Rosie had forgotten most of her bags, and I kept mumbling curses under my breath.
But finally we were on our way. I was listening to Panic At The Disco instead of Atl just because it reminded me too much of Klee and although we've had some great times just remembering her will make this journey a whole lot more upsetting.
After an hour of traffic jams and people being mad drivers on the road we had made it to the airport safely. We got out and I dragged my one suitcase and rucksack with me while all my other belongings were on a one way trip to our new home. Rosie for some reason had two suitcases.
I once again muttered profanities under my breath.
We quickly made our way to check out and dropped our bags off before going through security and heading towards the departure lounge. Leaving us with a 10 minute wait until we boarded. I made use of this time and called Klee.
She wished me luck in my new home and I told her I would skype her the second I got there. We said our goodbyes as my dad was yelling my name. I walked back over and handed my ticket to the lady at the booth before grabbing my rucksack again and heading in. We had booked the two seater at the back and the seats in front.
Rosie had decided to sit next to our parents instead of me so I deiced to make use of this opportunity and take up the two seater.

Half way through the journey, my feet were thrown of the chair and I was forced up. Rosie sat down next to me with her headphones in blasting Ariana Grande a bit too loud for me. Fallout Boy becoming faded.
"Excuse me?" I questioned knocking her headphones off her head.
"What?" She hissed.
"Why are you sat here?"
"Mum and dad are snoring. I can't deal with it."
"And you decided to sit next to me?" I questioned cocking one of my eyebrows up.
"Yes now deal with it." She said and I huffed putting my earphones back into my ears and enjoying Fall Out Boy.
"Put your seat belts on." An air hostess said as I buckled myself us. Taking this time to have a look over L.A
It was early in the day around 2pm so I could see everything clearly and I was super excited to get off the plane.
Around half an hour later we were at baggage claim. My suitcase coming almost immediately which was good because I had a seat while everyone else had to stand and wait for theirs.
A while after we had got all our bags and we made our way to get a taxi. It was quite a squish but we all made it in and we enjoyed the ride to our new house. I had my headphones in once again drowning out the small talk my family made with the taxi as we drove towards the house. We arrived around half an hour later making it around 3pm which meant my family made sure we started unpacking right away. Rosie classing herself the 'favourite child' claimed the biggest bedroom in the house, leaving me with the end bedroom which looked minute in comparison to hers.
Collapsing onto my double bed that took up most of the room, I looked around at the scattered boxes and bubble wrap that smothered the flooring of my bedroom, sighing I looked out of my uncleaned window to the night sky that illuminated the city of la. Poking my head out of my bedroom door and staring down the empty hallway, soft snores came from both bedrooms down the other end notifying me that the rest of the household had in fact passed out from unpacking. Rolling my eyes I kicked a few empty boxes lying on my floor as I changed into pyjamas and placed my special necklace on my desk before tucking myself into bed as it was clear there was no point in staying up alone.
A light went off inside my head and made me spring to my desk to collect my laptop. Setting it up as quickly as possible my fingers traced over the skype symbol as I clicked as soon as it allowed me to, finding Klee's name and video calling her straight away.
Her flushed face popped up on my screen but it was soon replaced with a smile as she screeched into the microphone.
"Phoenix!" Klee said her internet cutting her off and making her look pixelated. I laughed and tilted my laptop lid upwards allowing her to see more of my face and room. "Your room is looking good."
"Really? I seriously can't be bothered to unpack anymore."
"It's your first day in la! Just chill for now but speaking of la, when are you planning to find Evan?" Klee grinned at her camera which made me roll my eyes, of course she was going to ask me that, the day I arrived in the same homeland as my old best friend.
"Klee I have no clue, again it's been 7 years! Evan could have a child, be in prison, be addicted to drugs-"
"Or he might be wandering where you are now and wanting to see you again and kiss you-"
"Slow the heck down Klee, this is my best friend. No kissing allowed." I waggled my finger at her and she huffed back in response.
"Alright okay, you're the boss but hey I have to go family calls. I'll call you tomorrow if that's cool?" I nodded back and we said our goodbyes. Letting a sigh rip from me once the call ended I tipped the lid forward and shoved the laptop under my bed. Pulling the duvet up to my neck I rolled over to face the window before shutting my eyes.
My body was close to falling into a deep slumber when a loud bang caused my eyes to snap open. The sound of footsteps became louder and louder. The stress levels within me began to arise as I realised they belonged to someone outside the house. My body paralysed in fear but my eyes roamed the bedroom before connecting to the window where a figure was outside a screwdriver in hand as he began bolting at my already weak window.
I was scared but unwilling to move, I watched haunted as the figure pulled up my window slowly a creaking coming from it making me wince. The figure dressed all in black came stumbling into my bedroom attempting not to step on any boxes while I attempted not to freak out. My body refusing to call out in fear.
The stranger began to tread carefully through my bedroom, obviously wanting to leave my room since there was simply nothing worth stealing other than my laptop which they completely missed. As they passed my desk and edged nearer to the door, the sparkle from my necklace causing them to make a double take before picking it up and examining it. My body was quick to sit upright as my fear of them tampering with something so special to me worried me sick. My quick movement didn't even bother the intruder as they looked at the necklace delicately.
"Phoenix?" The muffled voice said and I was taken aback by the person speaking my name.
It was only then when the figure pulled his mask from his face the obsessing over the necklace made sense.
"Evan?"
