She's an exchange student from Shiratorizawa Academy (Middle School), a somewhat popular student for being the only one who replies to Ushijima's cold or strangely emotionless comments as if they were friendly talk.
She used to be libero on the Girls' Volleyball team, though she wasn't all that talented, she still had a knack for picking up and receiving some pretty hard spikes. She was Tendou Satori's kouhai*, learning blocking techniques and even getting a sneak peek into what goes into Tendo's Guess Blocking.
She lives in a quieter part of Miyagi, quite close to Tsukishima's home and the Hotaru Café.
*Kouhai - as senpai is upperclassman, kouhai is a junior. (Not the American Junior and Senior I don't even understand how those work.)

He's an asshole. His antagonistic nature makes him particularly hard to get along with. Though that doesn't stop Yamaguchi, a loyal friend who's stuck with him since their younger days, from following, and even adding on to the blonde male's sarcastic retorts.
