(Y/N)

Sun, warmth.

Calming, yet, a force not to be reckoned with on a hot summer day.
It unfortunately wasn't a nice experience today either.
The beams shone into your room, through the spaces in the blinds, lighting up your face and tracing the frame of your window, almost glowing.
You grumbled uncomfortably as you shifted your legs over the ledge of your bed, feet fumbling for your house slippers.
The clock on your bedside table read '6:47'.
'Still somewhat early' You thought, already hearing the sizzle of breakfast in the kitchen.

You freshened yourself up, the cool water dripping down your face and back onto the counter below, it was boring to think of what classes were scheduled today.
Class 1-4, a boring one at that. You knew that there were some people who were somewhat popular because the clubs they participated in, but the only two memorable ones are that awkward looking kid with green hair and his tall, lanky friend. They were a strange sight, honestly- both boys taller than average and keeping to themselves. It made you wonder if they were gay.

But, that's none of my business.

They piqued your interest during class quite often. You could always overhear them... arguing? Outside the classroom;

"Ne, Tsukki, don't you think—"
"Shut up, Yamaguchi."

It baffled you, to be able to stay friends with someone who seemed to treat you as if you were worthless.
You figured you were in no position to be questioning it, maybe they really are gay?

"(Y/N)-chan! Breakfast is ready!"

"Coming, mom!" You answered quickly, pulling on your socks and fixing your hair.
You came downstairs to a lovely smelling bowl of miso soup and some pan-fried salmon.
"It looks delicious, mom. Thank you!"
"Thank you, dear. Itadakimasu~"

You eat slowly, avoiding getting rice on your face as you wanted to avoid the whole Studio Ghibli munching on food cliché. You wash up, grabbing your bento box your mother had packed you for lunch.

"(Y/N)-chan, have fun at school today!~"

"Thanks, mom! Have a great day at work!"
You slip on your shoes and clip on your rollerblades. They were good exercise and were really helpful for when you got late, though it does end up with you having to bandage yourself every once in a while, not that you weren't used to it.
You skated past Shiratorizawa Academy on the way to school, remembering everyone's reactions when you announced you weren't going to continue studying there for senior high.

"(Y/N)? Are you crazy? Your grades are more than enough to be an excellent student here!"

"Don't you want to stay on the girls' volleyball team? You're a star!"

"You must be really stupid if you're giving up studying here for, what was the name? To-Torino?"

"(Y/N), as your teacher I have to ask, are you sure about this?"

No matter who asked, the answer was always the same, always said with that soft smile on your features;

"I'm sure, don't worry. I've thought through this decision. I just... feel like I need another experience, I want to be more than just an elite student from a popular powerhouse school. Besides, you've all got Ushijima-kun to keep you guys fighting!"
