What The Nefarious Carnival Does To You

Chapter Six

A Golden Heart

Lies

It's all lies!

The male who loomed over him. Lie. The warmth shared between the two entwined bodies. Lie. The intense pleasure being received from the male fingering him. Lies! The way he opened bare to him as he devoured his form. Lies! The whisper against his lips saying he infatuated him. A big fat lie!

He rejected the debauchery that haunted his mind. What kind of lies were these? It was as if hell itself made a newfound place in his brain and gave him a basket of goods—and not the good kind. Nico knew he won't be able to get the green-eyed male out of his mind. But this, this was pushing it! Knowing it'll never be real yet the visions he saw hit close to home.

But apparently, the trip to nightmare lane—if he could call it that—wasn't finished.

They touched. They kissed. The heat that swallowed their form due to their needs. It was him. There is no denying it. The dark hair that tickled his face as the male ravished his neck. No—there was something more. The carnie was doing things to him. He sucked, licked, and worshipped every inch of his body.

It was all Nico ever wanted. But this was surreal to be true. He wasn't a fool to believe it happened. Whatever had gotten into his system must be messing with his head. The poor boy was stuck, watching everything play in his mind. There were parts it was blurry, but he could hear the breathing and the gasps emanating from them.

No, those weren't him and Percy. It's all an illusion, right? He reasoned. Those visions didn't belong to him. It invaded his mind. He had no memory of ever doing this—

... A memory?

Nico gasped as he awoke.

He drank in gulps of air. That was some nightmare. He closed his eyes and regained breathing. No, it's all a dream. Nothing to worry about...

"Nico? Hey, easy there. Here, drink." A voice approached him. The Necromancer didn't open his eyes. He felt a cold surface touch his arm. He reached and he was handed a glass of water. He drank in small gulps and sighed.

... Right?

The glass was taken away from him and made a clinking sound as it was placed down. He opened his eyes, seeing none other than Jason standing beside him. They were in the small infirmary beside the main house. "Got your beauty nap?" Amusement clashed with concern as he looked at him. Nico tilted his head in confusion.

"You were asleep for the whole day. Right now, the crew is out dealing with their audience. I assigned Frank to help out Hazel and I thought you wouldn't mind it if she used your station for the meantime you're here sleeping. "

"I don't. So, is she performing now or...?"

"She isn't. I'll give her time to relax and train with Frank. I wouldn't rush her right away just after getting her out of there." The bed sank as Jason sat himself beside the younger male. It was silent between them with Nico looking down on the white sheets of the bed and the blonde looking at the walls.

He knew his friend wanted to talk—may it be from what happened down the pit or if he saw how hard Nico was breathing when he woke up.

But instead, he pushed that topic for another time. "Hazel stayed with you for the few hours she got here. I eventually told her to not worry and trusted me. She would sometimes ask how you were doing too." Jason told him. Nico's chest felt light at hearing this. Hazel is worrying about him and they only talked for a short amount of time yet, she cared like they've known each other for a long time.
