I'd like to thank all of my new coming fans (and some old ones) for reading this story. While none of you asked for it, this story came to be anyways. This is my record-breaker, reaching 343 pages in my document, finalizing at 78,901 words. For something so long, it felt slightly easy to accomplish.
I'd like to thank the real people behind the franchise, such as GAME FREAK™ and Creatures Inc., not to forget the actual Pokémon Company. Nintendo also deserves a thanks for making all of this possible.
It was my new obsession with the Pokémon franchise that inspired me to write Darkest Day. The funny thing is that I hated Sword and Shield only because it didn't have the National Dex. If only I had looked further into the lore, I probably would have written this a lot sooner. This game (even though I've only played it up until the Fairy Gym) has gotten me so emotional. This is the first time that I've fallen in love with fictional characters (thank you, Leon) and have gotten so protective over them. And yes, I do like Shield better than Sword. Sobble is baby, and the other starters are just Digimon and Donkey Kong rejects. Shield doggo is better than Sword doggo.
My inspiration for Eliana came from my love for Diamond and Pearl, and my desire for Gen4 remakes. I wanted a protagonist that I could connect with, who would have some of my favorite pokémon and able to achieve mega evolution. As for the other characters, I admit that it was my own depression and anxiety that I poured into Hop's personality. I wanted to make him into someone who could overcome these problems and achieve his dreams, which is something that I probably won't do. Leon and Raihan's relationship only happened because I liked the ship, and it is also the fandom's OTP. Bede and Hop are just people that I thought should belong together. Enemies to lovers is a great trope, right? Besides, what story by ShadowFuntimeFoxy19 doesn't have any sort of gay relationship? And before you ask, Eliana will remain straight. I have something special planned for her in the future ;).
This is the first time since Henry's Path that I've dabbled in multiple character POVs (Help Wanted doesn't count). I like how it turned out, as I could focus on each of their own unique personalities and backstories. I'm happy to say that the next entry in this series will be focused primarily on Raihan.
Now, as I'm writing this, it is currently 8:05 AM on March 6th, 2020. Thank you for reading, and I can guarantee that this won't be the last time you'll see me.
