Chapter 3

I have been in many scary situations. With my dad passing, I thought, there had nothing even more scary than that, but my current situation definitely is in my top five.

Awkward silence hangs inside the car. Greyson is a verbose but right now he's taciturnity suggests that I've done something he wasn't pleased about and I have a good guess what that may be. I know he isn't please when he found the house our emptied and for sale. I don't expect him to be thrilled about it but I expected him to be more understanding about the situation- after the mountains of debt we were in, for sure he knew what's coming next.

"You're angry." I state as I look at his stoic facade, realizing how much I miss him, his kind blue eyes, that dirty blonde hair tousled in different direction, and those strong angled jaws. I wanted to hug him just like those good old days when he's upset.

"No kidding." He mutters under his breath, still angry.

"Look, I'm sorry. If I did anything to upset you." I say somberly.

"Oh, not just me, Kim and Dylan are too," he states in a harsh tone more than necessary.

"Look, I plan on telling you after you got back, but it looks like, it's too late." I sigh in defeat before continuing. "Just drop me off home."

"Damn right, I'm taking you home, " he mutters acid drips his tone, almost making me cry. Why did he even come all the way here when he's just going to hate on me?

The moment the car yields into a stop, I stomp out of the car and slam the door, Greyson following close behind a wicked grin in his face. I'm too upset to care about that smile his face. When I open the door, all my friends were there, not mad, just half eaten pizza hanging from their mouth.

As I spin around, I catch sight of Greyson, stifling laughter. I stomp towards him and smack him across the chest multiple times but his lean, tall stature just take each blow like nothing at all. He laughs full time.

"You're such a butt!"

"Oh Emily, still guillable and as explosive as ever," he says as he stirs me inside.

Everyone was there. Dylan, Kim, and Mel sits there, all grinning in amusement. They all stand up to give me a hug but Dylan encloses me first with his long muscular arms. His tall frame blocked my view of everyone.

"Hello Emily," he grins exposing the dimples on both sides of his cheek. I can mentally picture his kind brown eyes warm as ever. "I've missed you," he hugs me tighter to the point that I can't breathe.

"Dylan..," I breathe out. He lets go and inspects me. He looks the same when we were younger except that his boyish face is now more sharper. His jaws, bony nose and jaws were now more prominent, and his last minute growth spurt caused him to be exactly a foot taller than me.

I'm months older than him but he acts like a big brother to me. He's always had these lollipops that magically appears whenever I have my mini accidents under his watch. I give him a sheepish grin, as he secretly hands me one.

"Step away from the girl, Didi." Kim calls as he pushes Dylan aside. Despite her medium build, she is packed with brute force.

"Hey!" Dylan yells as he staggers to the side.

"Oh Emily, if I wasn't missing you, you'd totally get it," she closes the distance giving me a peck in the cheek and a quick hug. She's chinky with light brown eyes and hair that she always kept in a bun. Her skin is flawless and smooth, a little too doll like perhaps. Which made her look fragile when she is the complete opposite of that. She's a black belter in judo and can incapacitate a man within 30 seconds-I've witnessed this first hand. It wasn't very pleasant.
