Sun rays entered the room. A brunette laid on the couch. She hugged a book to her chest, probably fell asleep while reading it. She suddenly sat abruptly. Her eyes scanned the room furiously, searching for any sign of a clock. When she saw the clock, her brown eyes bulged out of their sockets. She was late!
She cursed herself for staying up late reading that damned book. She tried to brush her hair which was filled with knots and curls. After a few failed attempts, she grabbed a beanie and stuffed her hair under it. She was lucky that she took her shower last night. She brushed her teeth before going to her closet for clothes.
Lady Luck smiled on her that morning. She had already picked her outfit yesterday and her best friend is coming to pick her up. After putting on her clothes and decided that she looked presentable, she stuffed her phone and book into her bag.
She was about to put on her shoes when she caught sight of herself in a mirror. She was now awake as she took sight of a pimple, right in the middle of her forehead. Not that it stood out from other pimples that decorates her face. She ran back to her room, putting on concealer or foundation or whatever cream to cover the pimples. Having no experience, she ended up putting on too much and forgot to blend it to her neck. Thus her face looked paler than her body. It felt like Halloween came early for her this morning.
A honk blasted and she put on her shoes and ran out of the house. Her best friend just shook his head as he saw she was wearing. A plaid shirt with black jeans. Just like her other outfits any other day. She was just obsessed with plaids. She opened the door and he almost fainted from shock.
"Gurl, you sick or what? You look as if you forgot to tan your face," he said as he gave her a makeup wipe. Being a makeup artist, he is always critical about makeup.
Taking the wipe, she wipe her face as she shook her head.
"I guess I got paranoid when I saw a new pimple," she shrugged as her face was now clean from the product.
"I told you, multiple times! To take care of that face yours! But no! You refuse to do what your bestfriend told you to do!" he complained as he stopped at a red light. "And I suspect a book being the reason for your tardiness."
She just gave him a smile as she thought about her first day of work. Her employer would not be pleased with her at all.
"Well the book was about this girl who wants to run away and be free. Because she is not. She is like-" She was cut off when he stops the car and unlocked the door. He told her to have a great first day at work and drove off.
