ALICE'S POV

I ate my last piece of toast & rushed out the front door as soon as I heard the loud engine of the school bus. "Bye Mom!" I shouted louder than I expected, "Bye sweetie, have a nice day" ,She called back. I slipped on my black combat boots and headed out the door.

I really was not in the mood to ride the school bus today, I hated it. It was loud and smelled like feet. All I did was listen to music on the bus anyways. But today was different, as I languidly hopped onto the bus I saw a new face in the very last seat. I had never seen this kid before & I knew almost all the people on my bus. (mostly because they would always get in trouble). The boy had black hair with blonde strikes in the front, tan skin, a few tattoos on his arm, and a tattoo peeking from outside his shirt. He was wearing a Blink-182 shirt, which I just happened to love becase they were one my favorite bands ever! He was very, very attractive too. He had such a perfect jawline and the kindest brown eyes I had ever seen. Woah, stop thinking like this. He was writing something in a green journal & he looked very concentrated.

I must've been staring at him for a while because Mr.Hart, our bus driver, scolded at me and said "Well are you going to sit down or not?" Immediately I felt my cheeks flushed a deep red but to keep it cool, I gave Mr.Hart a sarcastic smile. The boy looked at me and smiled. As I rushed to sit down, the image of his smile wouldn't leave my head. Such perfect teeth and it was a very contagious. There goes my stupid girl mind again. Although I held the urge to smile back.

"CHLOÈ ALICE LANCASTER!" Someone screamed from across the hall. I looked behind the door of my locker and saw my best friend Jaidyn sprinting towards me. "Don't call me by my full name you know i hate it!" I whisper screamed. Everyone always called me by my middle name, Alice, because I prefered it over Chloè ever since I was 7.

"Dude,oh my god! There's a new boy and he's really cute! Have you seen him?!" She exclaimed tugging at my flannel. "Does he have blond strikes in the front of his hair?" i asked, Jaidyn nodded in response. "Well then yes, I have seen him, he's on my bus actually,". "Are you serious!!?" She screamed, causing people to turn around and stare at us.

Jaidyn was one of my favourite person in the world, she was my best friend, but she was also a little boy crazy. Every cute boy she sees, she goes after. It might sound like shes some kind of slut, but its the total opposite. She just happens to have big crushes on guys, even since we were little kids. And she is very pretty, and I was completely jealous of her pink hair (because my mom wouldn't let me dye my hair fully). But currently, she has a boyfriend, which helps keep her grounded. I was glad at this.

"Calm down now, yeah he's really cute. What do you know about him yet?" I asked. Jaidyn explained, "Well, all I know is that His name is Cay-lum or Cal-um or something & he has our homeroom and he has 3rd, 4th, and 6th period with you. Which means he has our lunch period!" Butterflies filled my stomach even though I didn't even know him yet. "Cool, I guess. Just please promise me Jaidyn, that you won't go crazy over him if he likes you," Jaidyn sighed "I'll try" she joked.

I slammed my locker shut and made my way to homeroom with Jaidyn. When we walked in the classroom, the new kid was already in the room. "That's him!" Jaidyn whisper screamed. He was sitting at a desk. I looked away but then gasped at what I had just realised. The seat he was sitting in. It was the seat right next to me. Wait, why am I freaking out, I have plenty of cute guys that I talk to, even some i've hooked up with!

I made my way to my chair and felt his eyes piercing onto me. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him smile. When I finally sat down I looked over to him and greeted "Hey." while applying a fake smile since i was in shock.

Throughout the whole lesson, he would glance over at me. There was something about him. I didn't know why he made me feel all mushy inside. Sure he was cute, really cute to be exact. But my point is why I didn't know why he made me feel like this. I had hooked up with alot of guys & had plenty of boys at my school drooling over me. That was my reputation. I was the school's "punk girl", the one who listens to bands, wears alot of black, and hooks up with guys. And if I'm being honest, I wasn't always happy with my reputation. It's not always me, sometimes I just wanted to be Alice, just a girl.

The school bell ringing interrupted me from my thoughts. As I slung my backpack over my shoulder and made my way out the room with Jaidyn, Calum approached us. "Um hi, sorry, I didn't get your name before. So what is your name?"

I only smiled and told him , "Trouble." I wasn't intending on giving him a pleasant response. He was messing with my mind, he didn't deserve my kindness.

Once again, interrupted from my thoughts,Jaidyn gently kicked my ankle. I sarcastically smirked at her and turned back the Calum "Sorry, I'm Alice," why did I just apologise? "I'm Calum" he smirked. Jaidyn pulled me to the side and whispered "I'll see you in P.E., good luck with him!" she winked and with that she was walking away. That was left with Calum and I.

"So um, I'll see you around. If you need any help, just come find me." I told him. "And I like your shirt by the way." I said referring to his Blink-182 shirt. "Thanks, I like your face." Calum said. "W-What?" His face was a deep shade of pink "I-Uh, nothing, nevermind" It took all my strenght to try not to laugh, I knew exactly what he said, all guys complement me. Although I never believed any of it, when Calum said it he made me feel as if I was actually pretty. "Ok, well see you at lunch Calum." I told him before I walked off.

"What?"

"Oh, we have lunch period together. See you there."

And with that I walked away.

The school day dreaded on and it seemed like it would never end. As soon as lunch came, I once again felt butterflies. That's when I remembered I had lunch with Calum. Cue the butterflies again.

What was a relieving at the moment was that I didn't hang out with Jaidyn at lunch, she always skipped lunch to "hang out" with her boyfriend. Otherwise if she was here, she would have pushed us to sit with Calum,and I really didn't want to because he made me feel mushy and he gave me sparks.Wait what? Um no. But what was great about lunch was that I had it with my other best friends, Lesley & Luke!

We had all met in freshman year. Lesley and I had both wore an All Time Low shirt on the first day of school. She was in my first and third period and thats when we ran into each other. Lesley had walked up to me and said "I love your shirt! I thought I was the only one who liked All Time Low!". "No, I love them! In fact I thought I was the only one!" And from there we became friends. We had met Luke the same day, he had complemented our shirts. And that's when our little trio started.

I rushed into the cafeteria and skimmed the room to find my friends. While looking around instead of finding my friends I made eye contact with Calum. He gave me a warm smile and I began to walk over to him. As I made my way over to him I spotted Lesley & Luke. I mouthed the words "Hold on." I turned back to Calum and said "Hey,"

"Hi Alice!" i sat down directly in front of him and asked him "Do you want to come and sit with me and my friends?" He sat in silence for awhile and finally said "Yeah sure," and with that Calum and I made our way over to where Lesley and Luke where sitting.
