Chapter Three

Chapter Three: Niall's POV

"Kenzie?" I whined. "I don't want you to go." "I have to, silly goose," she giggled. "Alright. Do you want me to take you?" I asked. She laughed and rolled her eyes. "Typical Niall, forgetting that I live right down the street," she taunted.

"Don't mock me," I said, frowning playfully. "Just shut up and hug me, you Irish potato," she said. "Potato?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Fine. Talented potato. Happy?" She asked. "Much better," I smiled, hugging her tightly.

She left shortly after, and although I didn't like it, I knew that stubborn McKenzie wouldn't let me walk her home, she never did when we were kids.

"Hey mate," Harry said, plopping next to me on the couch. "Hey," I replied, stretching my arms out tiredly. "So, what's up?" He asked. "Bordem," I sighed. He laughed softly before shaking his head.

"Do you want to get some ice cream?" He asked. "Why not?" I shrugged.

We got up and threw on our coats, and trainers. As soon as we were ready, we left and got into his car.

I hopped into the passenger side and put on my seatbelt. We drove to a close ice cream shop, talking about meaningless stuff until we finally arrived.

"Darcy's Ice Cream Shop?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously. "They make good ice cream," he said defensively. "Does this have anything to do with the fact that Flora works here?" I questioned. "No," he lied. I rolled my eyes and headed through the door, the little bell dinging as the door squeaked open.

"Hi, welcome to..." The girl I recognized faltered as her eyes fell upon Harry. "Oh. Hi Harry. And Niall." "Hi," I said. She smiled and turned to Harry, who was cringing at her using his full name. She always called him 'Haz' or 'Harold' or some corny nickname that she'd come up with. "So, long time no see," he said. "And who's fault would that be, Harry?" Flora smirked. He winced and we headed to the counter.

"Um, Choco-Mocha-Chocolate. Large, please," I said. "I'll have-" Harry started. "Let me guess, White Christmas?" She asked, looking at him. "How'd you remember?" He asked, smiling slightly. "I may hate you, but I used to love you. Remember when we would come here, you would always get the same thing. Large White Christmas and split it with me," Flora said. She smiled distantly at the memory and headed to the little ice cream stand with the glass case in front of it.

She picked up the cups and filled them, before mixing in chocolate chips and brownie pieces with whipped cream for mine. She handed me it over the counter and started on Harry's. She took the white chocolate ice cream and added peppermint patties, hot chocolate sauce, and a cherry. She handed Harry his and headed to the cash register.

"£5.63, please," she said. Harry pulled out money before I could object, and handed her it. "Keep the change," he smiled. Flora rolled her eyes, and kept all the money in the cash register, not taking the change out. 

"Thanks Flora. It was great to see you again!" I smiled. "Thanks. You too, Niall. Oh, and Kenzie told me that you know now. I'm really glad. Now you two can go back to telling each other ever secret you've ever come up with," she smiled.

I laughed and headed out of the shop, Harry trailing behind.

"Is it weird that we're best friends and in love with best friends?" Harry asked. "What do you mean?" I questioned. "Well, I'm your best mate and I'm in love Flora. And Flora's is McKenzie's best mate and you're in love with her," he said. "What!? What are you talking about? I am not in love with Mickey. She's my best friend, and I love her like that, but nothing more," I said.

"The Nile's not just a river in Egypt," he smirked. I rolled my eyes and swallowed down my ice cream. "Yeah," I agreed. "It's also my name."
