There was no hope for sleep that night, too many thoughts where bouncing about from within, too many ideas, too many worries. The moment that dawned approached preparations would need to be made in order to try and increase chances of survival. It would all be pointless if you couldn't get yourself to the seasons end. As thoughts mulled over what tools and weapons would be best to gather you figured the late hours of the night would be the perfect opportunity to try and see the limits of your new body. There wasn't that much that could be done though to properly test and poke at the new limits that had been set. From the stretches and attempts to pick up various furniture it was obvious that the new form held a bit more strength and flexibility, other than that there didn't seem to be anything spectacular, even when you tried to piss yourself off to try and wake up your inner demon nothing came of it. Either you didn't possess any odd abilities or you had yet to figure out how to properly activate them. A small sigh escaped you as you flopped back onto the bed and stared at the clock that had been moved to the nightstand. Time crawled by at a snails pace only jumping ahead by a small bit whenever sleep managed to take hold of your eyes. "If this is going to be a waiting game I'm going to lose my mind" you thought to yourself "... Fitting for hell." Thankfully the small jumps of time through sleep helped to move things along, the time eventually growing close enough to where sleep was no longer needed to speed things through. It was almost time. Sitting up eyes gazed at the clock, waiting for the ideal time to slip out of the hotel and head to the only store nearby that just so happened to lose an employee to the extermination. Though it would rob another demon of a job they were supposed to have it had to be done. The evil doughnut was the ideal place to work while the story progressed. The work was simple, the hours were nice and long, the owner wasn't that much of a dick, and the shop was close to the hotel. You figured that you'd be able to watch the hotel through the shop window, that way if anything happened, you'd know and be able to keep better track of the major episodes. Though the others would no doubt inform you of any events there was still the desire to see it from your own eyes, even if it was at a distance. "Just a few more minutes" you thought to yourself "Just a few more minutes and I'll head over there, if I'm lucky I'll catch him during his morning smoke" thoughts finished. Five minutes, three minutes, one minute, the moment the clock struck six you were up on your feet. Without making a sound you opened up the door and slipped into the hallway. The eerie silence and the far dimmer light making the whole place feel as though it was abandoned. There was already the lingering feeling of being an outside, the stillness of the morning only helped to amplify it. Taking hold of the doorknob you were more than ready to have that feeling washed away in the bloody light of dawn. It would have been nice had a voice not called out from behind you. "And where are you heading to this fine morning?" A small squeak escaped as you quickly turned around to face the demon, sure enough he was right there, towering over you once more. His grin seemed to widen as you let out a sigh and leaned back against the door in an attempt to come down from the sudden spike of fear, this time though the panic was able to fade more quickly. You were more annoyed with the sudden jump scare than anything. "Can you please not do that" you managed to breath out "Or at least give me a heads up so I don't have a heart attack" you finished. "Hmm..." though it looked like he was thinking about if for a moment you already knew that it wasn't going to stop "Nope!" You couldn't help but let out a sigh filled chuckle. "I had a feeling I'd be out of luck" you said as you pushed yourself off the door. "Sorry my dear but you're going to have to get used to being frightened, hell is a scary place after all. Well, for most people anyways, but I digress" he trailed off, a clear indication that he still wanted a response to his question. "I was going out to see if I could find a job nearby" you replied "Jumping into the fray right away? How interesting" he replied. A small sigh escaped you as you turned away from him and opened the door "This isn't good" thoughts whispered. "I'd rather go on my own accord than wait and get dragged into it kicking and screaming, it's less of a hassle that way" you replied. "If Charlie asks tell her that I'm searching for a job and that I'll be back later" playing the part of the clueless sinner you closed the door and started walking away from the hotel. "Did I catch his eye? No, he more likely just finds amusement in my terror. Don't over think it girl, he'll go the moment you're no longer frightened" you thought to yourself. Turning the corner to the side of the building eyes fell upon the small bakery, the blood-stained help wanted sign still hanging there in the window. As if on cue the owner stepped outside, taking his spot right next to the door and lighting up one of his fatter cigars. Though the scent was annoying you still walked up, the beastly demon turning his head slighting, watching from the corner of his eye. As soon as you opened your mouth he spoke, cutting you off before the words could even form "I ain't open yet toots, you'll have to wait" he said. "I'm not here for food" you replied "I noticed the help wanted sign. If you're willing to train me then i'm willing to work."
